Yes Bill Nye, the guy who pretends to be a scientist on TV (his degree is in Mechanical Engineering and it's only a BS) is being rejected for the “March for Science” in Washington D.C. on Earth Day 2017. Not because he lack qualifications, but because he's too white and too male.

‘I love Bill Nye,’ said Stephani Page, a member of the March’s board, who was critical of what she considered the March’s lack of diversity. ‘But I do feel comfortable saying to you what I said to the steering committee: He is a white male, and in that way he does represent the status quo of science, of what it is to be a scientist.’
But if they were serious about wanting a real scientist who isn't white and male, why not the current president of Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, Shirley Ann Jackson and Chair of the President's Intelligence Advisory Board under Obama and now Trump.
