Forgive me for never traveling the world, but i Thought all there were to eat in England was leg of lamb, "biscuits" and hot tea, I mean just from watching Braveheart and the like? Never really pictured England as a place to go eat, just only a place to visit castles and see rocks stacked in a circle. I would like to go one day for that. But just always figured the food would be pretty plain and basic.

I remember a tomato soup that was on the warm Gazpacho style at the first London hotel I stayed in with a warning about how spicy it was. It was generally mild.

There was a pub that served some pretty good fish and chips; the fish still had its skin on.

Why didn't someone tell A.T. that?

Then again, in my not so humble opinion, the best "fish and chips" are made from dolphinfish which is probably better skinless.

My favorite breakfast is probably a few strips of thick, fatty bacon and bacon drippings over cornbread. Just sayin'.

Corn tortillas are also a staple of mine, but not with bacon. Cornbread, like with soup and chili.
