I agree the song is in a class by itself but I thought side A of the album was lame.

Definitely the weaker of the two.

I don't think it's terrible, but basically the thin and trebley musical arrangement doesn't mesh with the heaviness of his voice. Either the music or the vocals have their own merits, but they just don't seem to belong together.

In the title track, the heavier bass line solved that problem.

Fond memories of this blaring out of our basement (brothers room) when I was a kid, like 6? Y'all know that it was originally In The Garden Of Eden? Believe the official story is that it was slurred in an interview or something but a documentary I've seen interviewing the bass or keyboard player (?) told the story of the singer being so wasted on stage he couldnt sing the words and it stuck :lol:

Also heard this song was touted as one of the songs that birthed Hard Rock / Metal....Thank You Iron Butterfly =D>

Well it was released the same year as Sabbath, Purple and Zeppelin formed, so I agree with whomever said that their music lead to metal.
