By the time Brexit has been wrapped up it'll be just about time for a UK general election and a Scottish national election, so any referendum talk will almost certainly be kicked down the road again.

And again.

And again.

It'll all depend on Brexit itself mate. A bad deal and the situation might aggrevate.

The way things are going, there may not be a European Union for Scotland to go to in two years.

They'll hafta rename it the Germany-Scotland Union.

Keep off the sugars saxi, you're high. The EU isn't going to fall apart. Wilders lost, Le Pen has hit a ceiling, Afd isn't even making it past 10% so far and Pepe Grillo only wants out of the euro not the EU.

It even looks like Merkel might win the elections in Germany yet again.

This thread reminds me of an old Communist-era joke.

The Russians were always changing the propaganda line. Sometimes they wanted to be called our "brothers" and other times they wanted to be called our "best friends." No surprise that people were sometimes confused as to which was the proper politically-correct term.

Anyway, the joke:

Little Frankie (we have little Frankie jokes in Czechoslovakia just like you have Little Johnny jokes in the U.S.) is asked by his teacher, "Frankie, do you think the Russians are our Brothers or our Best Friends?"

"Of, for sure they're our Brothers," says Frankie. "We get to pick our Friends."
