That's just an outright category error. Dd/Mm/Yy makes sense to anyone. Cricket scores aren't supposed to make sense.

Thankfully, the US government has the sense to get it the right way round.

Time is kind of interesting. Why do Americans often say "quarter of" when they try to use the English term "quarter to"? It seems to be a fairly common mistake, and I can only assume it's due to some kind of flaw in the education system across the pond.
