No it's not. It makes absolute sense. Sandy Hook was blamed on the confederate flag and since the confederate flag has since been virtually banned. Some people said that was stupid because banning the confederate flag (we do did have freedom of expression didn't we?) wouldn't stop mass shootings or even slow them down.
Confederate SS is making a point that political correctness isn't going to make you safer. Banning people from speaking their mind no matter how despicable one might find such speech doesn't actually stop the hate. It just hides it.

Because if it's any of those then then it's still free speech and as long as he's not violating the rules of the site (a private entity that can decide what is and isn't allowed). One is either for freedom of speech or against it, no matter how offensive one might find such speech.

Freedom of speech isn't about protecting popular speech, it's about protecting controversial speech. If Confederate SS wants to pay homage to the confederate rebellion, more power to him. Making him get rid of his name or image or speech at the end of his posts doesn't promote cooperation. It's not like that will change his mind unless you prefer fake cooperation which is all you'd be doing.

His sign off shows what he believes in, if you make him stop using it then people won't know. He'll still have the same beliefs, the same reverence and anyone looking at his speech and avatar instantly knows and can decide for themselves what they want to think. But if you hide all that from people then what do you have? He's still the same person but the queues that were present are gone and so he just becomes hidden. By driving speech that you don't like away you don't get rid of it, you merely drive it underground. And that certain doesn't help either.

I'm all for people saying whatever. At least then you see what they are right away, for better or worse. Full disclosure if you will. The more extreme the better because it shows everyone what the ideas are and people have better information upon which to decide for themselves what to think. The more vile the speech the more sure one knows to reject an individual or organization or idea.

I don't have any problem with his point, I kinda agree with it. It was nuts the hysteria over the confederate flag is/was. I don't particularly agree with armed rebellion too often, and certainly not the institution of slavery, but trying to make people hide what they believe in merely moves people into the shadows, it doesn't get rid of the beliefs. And from the shadows is where the danger comes and is most unexpected. Danger in front of your face can be seen and planned for, danger you can't see is far graver. IMO.

Until EVERY legal gunseller integrates mental health records and violent crime violators into their systems, this is going to happen more often. Background checks need to be revised and enforced EVERYWHERE so these kind of people can't purchase guns when they have a known mental or violent history.

Yes I was pointing out the blue and silver rebellion, I am for freedom of speech and he has every right to say what he wants, that was settled along time ago, the south is not going to rise again end of story its over, the confederate state's didn't win,and that is what I meant when I said a conflicting message in my first post,the only way a blue and silver rebellion can be rebuilt is through the violence that he condemns with his first post, you can't have it both ways
