NCIS vs CSI

Postby Symmetry on Thu Jan 07, 2016 11:02 pm

Series run off. Spin offs included, which do you prefer?

Preliminary thoughts-

NCIS- character based
Makes the navy look cool
Has Ladies Love Cool James

CSI- plot based
Makes being shot look cool
Has themes by The Who
the world is in greater peril from those who tolerate or encourage evil than from those who actually commit it- Albert Einstein

I haven't seen a full episode of either

Aren't both just a collection of 5 characters solving an entire city's crime?

The thing is the main character reminds me of Patrick from Spongebob Squarepants, impossible to watch afterwards, sorry.

Also, no write ins.

Not at all! In NCIS there's 5 characters solving the whole world's crime. In CSI there's a whole bunch of characters solving a city's crime.

Very different, perhaps ask your ringmaster to angle the screen down so that you can see a full episode of at least one.

You've obviously had some very conflicting ideas, apparentlty in between sentences, about what this thread is a vote between.

The only program relating to police and crime that was any good was seasons 1-4 of Dexter.

I'm a Hawaii Five-Oh fan, myself. (The original, not this bullshit remake that's running around now)

However, the first season of CSI was really good. After that it went steadily downhill, with more and more flamboyant characters stealing attention from the actual plot, while the plots themselves became less and less plausible.

If we were voting based on the first season, I would go with CSI, but based on everything, overall, I had to vote kittens. The Who themes are cool, but they can't save the show.from scientifically-dubious lab work and anthropologically-dubious characters.
