Need help - hooking laptop to TV to play movies

Postby wicked on Sat May 12, 2007 9:33 pm

OK I gots the cables to connect laptop to TV to play movies, but how do I get my laptop to know it's hooked to the TV? I'm using an SGA connection.

I have a "presentation" manager, but it says nothing is connected. :?

Thanks!

Well, as far as I can tell, it should work pretty much the same as hooking a projector up to it. If it doesn't, you might want to look around on your "My Computer" to see if there is anything different there, like hooking up a printer or plugging in a memory stick. Sorry, but if those don't work, I don't know what's wrong.

Dang, I saw hecter as the last poster and I got really excited for a second.... only to see he's actually trying to be helpful. :(

wicked, what operating system are you using?

If it's windows, the following should work: Right Click anywhere on your Desktop, select Properties, click on the Settings tab, click the "Advanced" button at the bottom of the window, and depending on your display adapter it should bring up a new window with monitor properties and other options. Play around with that.

Thanks for doing the leg work on that wicked

My nineteen inch monitor is great, but it never occured to me to use carries laptop and projector....

i think Ill set that up. A 6ft world 2.0 map should be fun.

If it works on the TV even better...though, im not sure it will if its real computer stuff and not just a movie

LMAO!!! works well for watching movies. I'll leave the CC testing up to you! And you can set it up to view whatever's on your computer screen, just like a regular projector would for a ppt presentation.

heard this sledge once...

Glen MacGrath (bowling to 'portly' Zimbabwean Eddo Brandes): "hey, Eddo, why are you so f***ing fat?"

Eddo: "Because everytime I f*** your wife she throws me a cookie"
