now where i work the woman in the canteen comes from leigh (a small town 20 miles north of manchester) her voice just goes straight through me it is terrible. your sat there having something to eat (brought from home not her making)and she just start talking very loud and squeaky, every1 just cringes.

to kahless i can understand the difference from belfast and dublin, do not tar us all with the same brush.

The funniest British accent has to be the brummie (Birmingham/Wolverhampton) accent, the thicker it gets the funnier it is. I've got a friend from Dudley and I generally find it really hard to take anything he says seriously.

I have some friends from London. I have never been there.
But they have been here. I always love the culture clash. Do you guys have White Castles over there? Anyways my buddy John had never been to a White Castle so me and about six guys, including him went while he was in the states.

Me: "Hi, yes can we have a sack of fifty burgers? Thanks."

Johns eyes go huge and he looks completely aghast and horrified. With a wavering voice he says incredulously, "FIFTY BURGERS! What the F*** are we going to do with FIFTY BURGERS mate?"

You probably had to be there for this to funny. But I think it was partially funny because of his accent.
