Some 16 year olds have clearer analytical brains than older people.
(I'm assuming that Snakey was being ironic).

Many mathematicians are at there best at quite a young age -perhaps not 16, but young never the less.

On a vaguer theme, and difficult to prove, but the passion of a teenager often results in clearer arguments and a greater sense of purpose.
On the other hand you have experience.

But as Harold Wilson said at the fag end of his last government in '76:

"The trouble is, when the old problems re-appear, I reach for the old solutions".

Point being that young people have fresh ideas, greater creativity, and are often more willing to take risks. And of course have great energy.

I get rather bored by this mocking of teenagers "knowing everything" -no, they don't -but some of them know an awful lot.

Anyway, as satire this is lame at best. It actually sounds more like a 16 year old trying to sound like an adult making fun of a 16 year old. If that was the point maybe it’s not so lame...

Company policy:
Hire a teen while they still know everything if none apply hire the handicapped it's fun to watch them work...

And just what do you do at work that is so much "fun"?

Watch you...

Ok ok that was way to easy I know but how could I resist...

There was a conversation about this with some folks I know and I wonder what others here think about this. Preface this with the fact that all of us work for a major university.

They say that your 40's are your 30's now and 30's are 20's etc. I am pretty old by the standards around here but I am a child of the late 60's and early 70's. Most of the people I knew were out and on their own in school or working by 18 or 19. Most of us had fake ID's and were sneaking into bars at 16. I moved out and had my own apartment five months before I was 18. None of this was remarkable back then.
Now when we deal with 17 year olds they seem younger and less ready if not prepared. They seem younger and the trend is for people to stay living with family much longer.

I know that things always look different with age but what do the older and younger denizens of this fair forum think about this?

So its fair to assume the only place you'll be aborting your sperm anytime soon is your belly button then or maybe the underneath of your sheets in a slightly embarassing and somewhat sticky accident? Its great for you that your Catechism was so effective but boy thats going to suck for your future wife or civil partner when he/she gets a full 3 seconds of consummation.
