First of all I like the concept of castle risk, and enjoy playing the game. I have done so many times.

The main concepts I like are:
end of turn troops (people will do risky battles to take color groups)
you alwase have a good size army (most of your troops come by castle)
no sitting around waiting for death

Theirs alot more stratagy with this game aswell. You might not attack the weak guy even if it will make you alot stronger, because you can't finish him off and if you weaken him your opponet will kill him and get his castle. Your opponet is in the same boat, so weak guy has a free pass, unless someone fails to plan.

However their is one big problem. The cards. They are WAY to powerful, especially the admrial and Diplomat. And they have the useless reinforcement cards to clutter up your hand. If you get lucky and get a diplomat card every round your practically guarenteed the victroy unless everyone teams up against you and stays so for several rounds.

the admiral is powerful but like reinforcements once used it is gone and the diplomat is a dual edged sword because it stops attacks both ways between you and who ever you play it on

I have it also it is my oldest and 2nd oldest favorite way to play the game. I really think that with all the different boards on this site a variation of this game type would be amazing and increase everyones CC addiction...

wow, that was quite a bump... why am i not shocked? maybe you can post some images, etc... and, you probably need to develop your own version, due to trademark issues, etc... afterall, this is not a RISK site...-0

p.s.-now go bump the other thread about this.

I'm not sure how this thread survived here so long :)

If you want to discuss bringing Castle Risk to CC head over to the sugs/bugs forum (it's beyond the scope of CC so probably wont be developed)

If you want to discuss something non-CC related (like another version of a certain board game) it should be done in Off Topics.

Moved from GD to Off Topics to save you having to restart it :)

Have a good one

Been there done that and it was a general discussion based upon the game play aspect of this game. As far as beyond the scope a lot of the primary differences have already been implemented in different ways the coding changes to create it would be minor tweaks with the exception of a whole new card type which would be the major hurdle everything else is or the most part in place.
