this is exactly what I was thinking as I read through this page. People always remember the "golden days" of anything as how it was when they first got used to it. Then, as things change, they can feel nostalgic for how things used to be. I'll probably remember right now as the "golden days" of the website... and then I'll have to slap myself.

I wont lie, i often have laughed at this these threads in the past. But when i have looked at some of the older threads, i think as far as political/religious discussions and maybe even for things like mafia, there were some pretty good moments in the past.

Im not sure that it was exactly better per say, but it certainly is a little different.

Everything changes.
In the old days you didn't have Nappy, but you did have jay. Spamalot but no unofficial postwhore-brigade (something of which I'm probably a part now).

Basically, it's down to the fact people tend to forget the bad things and only remember the good. It's human nature and the reason why I always make fun of threads like these. It's not like I don't have similiar feelings (I think fondly of 5 months ago for example) but I recognise them for what they are: fond memories but not exactly the truth.

eh i dont know, i personally think the debate threads really delivered a bit more in the past.

Doesnt mean everything, but i do think the issues and the threads as a whole were a little stronger then.

Things are good when I'm around, and not when not.

Possibly. But that's always the problem with getting into a forum with a history. There are always things which have been discussed already by the community anyway. I'd say there are plenty of people joining now who'd reply to a gay-marriage thread or a discussion about why Islam is bad, but the fact is that that has already been done and therefore draws less discussion from older members.

I'd wager a bet that the people who have discussed issues to death on this forum are more than happy to discuss the same issue with zeal on another newer forum. It's just the way we work.

Also, suggs where have you been?

Most people's penises are measured in inches, not millimetres. This may be alarming to you considering your own penis size but it's the truth.

This'll probably get me a t-will PM, since I'm being picked on but it was worth it,

The off topic posts not counting does have some perks though, you can keep your post count on 5000 for ages and look super cool.
