But seriously, had we spent even 1/2 what we have in fighting on rebuilding Afghanistan and Iraq, (like we did in Europe after WW II), when we first had the chance... we would have gone a long way toward ensuring that Al Qaeda,t ha various factions never got a foothold. (and I am quoting some rather high-ranked army folks on that) .. and along way toward creating friendly markets for our products.
Now, our options are limited.
But I do know this. If folks are not given a chance to educate their kids in moderate schools and to feed them, then they will look to the extremists. To some extent, we can help them now or fight them later.
Obama talks about education extensively, but I hear that from EVERY politician. It just gets old hat.
The politicians use your desire for a better future for your children to get votes. Then once they are in power, our school systems just go to pot. The people in power do not want your kids to be educated. They would rather have them be uneducated and easily controlled. If they had any education the elite in power will do everything they can to get them brainwashed into THEIR way of thinking...thusly secret organizations like the Skull And Bones and the Freemasons are created to do just that.
Truthfully, I don't know why Hillary just doesn't hang it up. Obama seems to be following most of her positions anyway, and I am sure Obama will appoint her in some way into his administration.
I just wish Ron Paul would say who he is endorsing, because we just need to move on. My feeling is that a large number of Ron Paul supporters are going to be voting for Obama, and if Obama could secure a Ron Paul endorsement, he will grab the presidency for sure, as Ron Paul received AT LEAST 10% or more support in the Republican primaries, and I am predicting he will get at least 20% support in South Dakota. If that 20% could be turned to support Obama, he has got the presidency in the bag!
It's this whole Hillary ego affair that is hurting the Democratic Party right now! The Clinton's need to take a back seat.
And why did Billy boy visit the Lakota Reservation? Doesn't he know that they pulled out of their treaties with the United States entirely around Christmas last year? That means that they are, in effect, a true sovereign country...they give up their right to vote in the United States elections, unless you consider them a US territory like Guam and Puerto Rico (but that is far from being sovereign, don't you agree?).
