O of U does have a good forestry program, and OSU isn;t too shabby, either ... though I don't think OSU offers PhDs (?)

HSU used to have a not-so friendly rival with both O of U and OSU, for undergraduate and master's programs anyway. And, though I don't know exactly where they sit right now, they have been rated in the top slots on and off for many years. But, the main reason I included it was because they are in CA, as is Berkeley .. though it is a CSU (the other CA public university system) and not a UC.


They also have quite a few other great natural resource programs, perhaps better than some of the UCs for undergraduate work. (mostly because professors actually teach the classes, classes tend to be smaller, etc.)

BUT as several folks have mentioned ... look not so much for the #1 school, look for a good fit for YOU. YOU are the most important part of your education... no matter where you go!!!
