The stereotype of philosophy majors is basically that they're useless, lol. Maybe it's not true, but that's just the preconception I have. Most of my philosophical arguments involve science and history anyways, so I figure it would just be best to study one of those if I wanted to improve my philosophy skills...

Also, I noticed that it was the NROTC, and I hope you consider the Marine option, and if you do, I hope to see in the fleet someday.
I'm not sure about making a career out of the military. I certainly haven't ruled it out, but I can't imagine having a family while serving active duty, and at this point I'm pretty certain I'd like to have a family. I'm just seeing how it goes at this point.
And yeah, my top choice right now is Marine infantry.

University natural sciences have nothing to do with what you get taught at school, I know a few people who study physics, among them two who consistently got best marks in mathematics and physics at school, they completely failed in the first term at university. One who'd only gotten average marks at school, however, passed the tests.
Good news. I'm in the hardest classes at school, but get mediocre grades. Sports is tough on time management... Anywho, that said I guess I might go into Physics or engineering. A minor in military history for fun would probably be the best option after that.

Well, I'd like to avoid those if possible

Which is definitely good news, and one of the main reasons I'm not going to Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. They make you choose your major as a high school senior and you can't transfer!

Interesting. I'll think on that.

Money isn't my main goal, it's not really a goal at all tbh. So far as finance goes, I just want to do something that I think is useful and make enough money to save up to raise a stable family in the future. A big house is pretty far down on my list of wants...
