okay, so i'm listening to my iTunes on random, and a song i haven't heard in quite some time just came on.
the waves of nostalgia are rushing over me. so, everyone, post a song that provokes a specific nostalgic memory, and what that memory is.
for me:
Sex Type Thing - Stone Temple Pilots
not my favorite band, but a solid one. i was 15. Woodstock 94 was going to be the biggest thing in the world. one of the older guys from my high school, a rising senior, had a big crush on my older sister. i'm sure that's why he invited me. but it doesn't matter, the fact is, he did.
he invited me to come along. i ran away from home -- but i left a note telling them i'd be back in a few days.
we were driving up there. windows open. stereo on full blast. that song came on, and everyone in the car (each seat was occupied) singing his/her guts out along to it. headbanging a little bit. getting fired up for the concert. no shame about us all singing along.
