Last I heard, Japan, Germany and even Britain does this: they separate the college-bounds from the trade-school types at a certain grade level and send them off to different high schools in preparation for either path, one school for college, one is vocational. From a relative who use to be a school teacher, to a curmudgeonly neighbor who I was paid by to put in some trees, I am informed that this system is what the US should do. For the most part I'm inclined to agree. Any one willing to open a side discussion?
