Postby boogiesadda on Tue Oct 03, 2006 3:49 pm

so get this my insurance went up 150 bucks per year (ok not really that much but still read on) for an "incident" this incident was a drunk hitting my parked van while i was sleeping and totalling it......now because i reported this to geico they decided that i am now a risk because i had an "incident"...................I WAS FUC*ING SLEEPING AND MY VAN WAS PARKED!!!!!! so what the F did i do wrong to justify a rate increase????????

Any accident brings on a rate increase..... you're lucky it was only $150. Welcome to auto insurance. You didn't do anything, but, it still caused them work, so, your rates go up.

Well, you could always appeal it and give 'em hell. Usually insurance companies are willing to lower the spike if you raise all kinds of holy hell.

And I say usually, because It won't always work.

Thats why its called "no fault" insurance. It doesn't matter who's fault it is, your rates will go up if you report an accident/incident to your insurance company.

I got hit going though a green light at an intersection (Truck ran his red light cause his breaks failed) My car was totaled and my insurance increased.

<<<<< Nationwide customer (but Metlife is the lowest rates if your record is clean. Gieko sucks, I called them to save my "15% or more" and they quoted me a price that was almost DOUBLE what I was already paying.)
THE DEBATE IS OVER...

In my experience, you have to have a perfect driving record and be old to get a good rate with Geico.

I had a good experience with geico when I had them. I had a huge sheet of ice fly off the top of my Jeep and smash into the car's windshield behind me on the interstate. Geico told me it wasn't my fault, although they would pay, and my rates didn't go up. 8)

now home insurance is a different matter... they'll increase your rates even if you just call in to ask about a claim. and they'll drop you in a heartbeat.
