Book Talk

Postby UCAbears on Sun Feb 24, 2008 9:55 pm

Hey guys I have a book talk due tomorrow and I am wanting to find a good book talk site so I can write the book talk down so I don't have to read this damn book. I'm doing it over Hatchet by Gary Paulson but I can't seem to find a site with a long enough book talk to get through 3 minutes. Can somebody give me some good sites and fast?

Like, a book report or what? I'm not sure what comprises a book talk.

Like a seminar, or something?

I think every canadian is subjected to Gary Paulsen in Grade 5. That book is pretty boring. About a guy who has to survive in the wilderness after his Cessna crashes from the pilot's heart attack. Paulsen even writes a sequal!

I did a Book Talk to my little brothers 4th grade reading class and that was the book I chose to do it on because I to read it in grade 5 or 6. But all was well and I got it done and presented. And no, I'm not in the 'slow' class.

O.K. I know what you're talking about now. I had those kind of things with art where the parents would come in and try to get a bunch of 2nd graders to appreciate surrealism.

You're reading that in college? :? I remember it being required reading in elementary school...

If I remember right, kid's flying over the forest, crashes in a lake, swims to shore, finds himself alone. Swims back to the plane, finds the pilot dead. Survives by making fire from sparks cause by striking a rock with a hatchet.

I remember he gets rescued, but I don't quite remember how...
