i love all food, but honestly, id take italian over anything any day.

in terms of actual chinese cooking, there is huge variation based on geographic style, and many of these rely on really heavy sauces that i don't exactly like

as for indian food, its good. but when i look at the question, i think, which could i eat forever, and i just don't think i could go without beef forever

thats why italian is left. in all seriousness, i could just eat plain buttered spaghetti everyday. and if not that, there is a vast array of pasta types that go well with certain things, which would allow more variety as compared to the other two cuisines

unriggable wrote:India. In China all they eat is rice, yes I am generalizing but the majority of the population is too poor to afford anything else. In Italy its a lot like America only slightly different. India has food from all walks of life. If you said Middle Eastern food I would've voted that since its got the best from everywhere. Like here.

I feel that you really need to experience a cuisine in its homeland in order to really get a feel for what it's like. For instance, the difference between Thai food in Boston and Bangkok (one of the few cuisines I eat regularly here and have had in its place of origin) is bigger then the difference between, say, Vietnamese and Thai in the US, I would say. So if we're predicating this poll on what cuisine tastes best after being adjusted for American / British palettes, I would say Indian, just because I can imagine it tasting similarly in India. Although I can't say for sure, obviously, as I've never been.

It's on the list, though.

quite a lot of Indian dishes in Britain are made up dishes just for the British palette(e.g. Chicken Tikka Massala). i picked Indian as the Curry house we use does not have it swimming in ghee.

as for Chinese, i do like Hot & Spicy Crispy Beef.

to whitestazn, you can get beef curries so there is no need to go without.
