This tournament is based on Euro 2008.
There are 16 doubles teams representing the 16 countries that will play in Euro 2008 in Austria & Switzerland.
All games will be 4 player doubles and Sequential. The other home conditions (map, cards, fortifying, fog/no fog) can be chosen by the team.
Premium is not required, but Non-Premium players have to keep (at least) 2 slots open for this tournament.
-In round 1 the 16 teams are divided into 4 groups of 4 teams (same groups as on the real Euro 2008 tournament). All teams will play the other teams in their group. In each matchday there will be 2 games, 1 each on both teams home settings.
-Teams get 1 point for each game they win. When they win both games versus the same opponents they get 1 point extra. The top 2 of each group advances to the quarterfinals. When 2 or more teams have the same number of points, the tie-breaker will be head-to-head results. When this gives no conclusion a play-off game (or series of play-off games when more then 2 teams are tied) will be played (Europe, No Cards, Chained, No Fog). When in a serie of play-off games teams win the same number of games, then first the head-to-head result will count, followed by the round difference (rounds of game won – rounds of game lost), followed by the numer of rounds of the game won.
-In the quarterfinals, semi finals and final teams will play 2 games each (1 on each of the teams home settings) and when both teams win 1 game a 3rd game will be played on Europe, No Cards, Chained, No Fog.
If a player doesn't join a game in time, he can be replaced during the group stage. That will however result in 1 point penalty for each player that is replaced. From the quarterfinals on players can't be replaced any more. If a team doesn't show up for a game from then, that game will be won by their opponents.
