Conquer Club

A few changes...we're going with four divisions of seven teams each with the Northeast having an extra 8th team. For the playoffs that means the four division winners will earn a bye in the first round, while the next eight-best teams will match up in the wildcard round (pretty similar to the NFL procedure).

Below is a list of standings ... also links to master schedule is below that. I'm planning to get first games out by Saturday, and game sets will continue to go out on Saturday's through the end of the season.

RULES
Okay, I’m ready for some football and it’s only June, so that means summer league football.
This 35-team tournament will feature a mix of teams out of the Canadian Football League, United Football League and the defunct World League of American Football (man, I loved that league) and the most popular of the USFL franchises.

Play is 1 vs. 1 format with each game made up of 5 maps (one for each quarter, along with a preset Special Teams map). If you’ve played my NFL league before, it follows that format.

Open to freebie players, but must keep two slots open for this tourney and keep up with the pace of play — one game (5 maps) per week.

• The season —
We’ll play an 18-game regular season with play divided into four divisions (West, Central, Southeast, Northeast). Teams will face each opponent in their division twice (home-and-away), the remaining games will be randomly selected vs. teams out of the other divisions.

• Playoffs...12 teams qualify
The four division winners earn a first-round bye.
The next 8-best teams will meet in an opening wildcard playoff round.
Higher seeds will get homefield advantage, until the title game which will be split two quarters on each team’s home settings.

• Scoring…Points will be awarded each quarter based on the following breakdown
Win in…
5 rounds or less — 14-0
6-7 rounds — 14-3
8-9 rounds — 10-0
10-11 rounds — 7-0
12-13 rounds — 6-0
14-15 rounds — 7-3
16+ rounds — 3-0

• Special Teams maps (escalating, chained, foggy)
These will change sites each week of the season with another choice to carry through the postseason. These predetermined sites will be announced before the league begins.
Scoring for special teams is as follows…
5 rounds or less. — 4 field goals (12 points)
6-8 rounds — 3 field goals (9 points)
9-11 rounds — 2 field goals (6 points)
12-15 rounds — 1 field goal
16+ rounds — no scoring

Almost halfway there after just the first day of sign-ups...nice!!!
I'm away this weekend, but keep signing in and I'll update the list when I get back Monday and hopefully we'll kick of the season shortly.

A few players signed in but didn't select a team (or selected an already taken team)...those players haven't officially been added to the list until they have a team.
