Hi Lack.

Personally my problem is not restricted only to Europe but to all of the map. Is there any chance of getting the old classic back?

Anyway it's nice to see that something is being done to fix the current situation.

TERRIBLE.... cant read the colors now. blue looks like green and pink and red all look the same. It's called classic for a reason. This is terrible, I will play out my last games and won't play anymore until it's changed.

Blue armies in Europe was a problem on Old Classic - it was hard to see armies when they were the same colour as terrain. But don't worry something will be done.

Ah okay. That wasn't so much of a problem for me. However I am colour blind so that might be a reason why that old problem was not affecting me.

That was such a minor problem that i didn't think that anybody would bother fixing it. I can't even think of the last game i was in that someone missed a blue territory in europe- I think that missing a blue territory in europe should be put down to laziness rather than the bad map...

Can you please reinstate the old classic until the major problems on the classic revamp are fixed?-- or at least until the majority of the community thinks that the revamped classic is an improvement?

The problem on Europe was very minor especially when colour coding was switched on, this change is a massive over reaction so please back to the old map until a compromise is sorted out as this new map is horrendous to play on.

I never had a problem with the old Classic map. It was one of my favourites, in fact. This new one is truly awful. NOW I'm having trouble telling blue from green. Can we please have the old map back? (Those circles look terrible.)

The only changes I don't care for are the dots behind the numbers, and the shadowing of the numbers. It makes it very hard to see things now.

Leave the changes, don't listen to the whiners. Optically it is a definite improvement.

I think the suggestion of putting back the old map until the new one is fixed makes sense. I am hating every game I have on Classic right now.

When such a large number of people complain it's not whining anymore, it means that there is something wrong with the map.

I know that my opinion will be seen as biased (I had no part in the Classic re-do), but I personally think it is a significant improvement. As a color-blind player, I had trouble reading blue army counts in Europe, especially in big games with three digit counts. And for as many times as I have played the map and know it like the back of my hand, I still made the occasional mistake of putting army in Iceland when I meant Scandinavia because the territory titles were poorly placed. #-o Other titles have been moved so they aren't buried under the army counts. Readable army counts and titles are a minimum standard for any map, and now Classic meets those standards.

Are the army circles too bright? Sure. That's an easy fix which is already being addressed.

I have to point out that so far there are 40 people named on a petition...

Is it not the case that this is not a large number?

There are 21000 active users...

I don't know the number who are active in the forums though.

The first 15 pages of the member list have over 200 posts... at 50 users per page.

so 50*15 = 750... lets say - 1/3 of those have left?

500 -> 40 users = 12.5% or a 1/6.

Does this not make it therefore 5/6's popular?

the army circ are to bright. yes the xml needed to be fixed. and the territory names made better but the army circles are way to bright. its hard to follow armies. in a freestyle speed its damm near impossible. you dont want to be tripple check and double guess yourself. its much harder to actually pick up the numbers

Yeti,

Not everybody plays classic. i looked at your games, you do not either. (maybe a handfull)
The majority of the people who do, hate the new set up coz you can't see things.

What is the problem with having an old and a new version?
There are so many maps, 1 more would be no problem.
