Map idea: gameplay discussion

I just got photoshop again, because my old computer broke, so I am thinking of making a map.

Concept: A village divided into some 24 or so territories in the center of the map, all other territories start neutral. There would only be 4 territories (1 on each side) that border a territory on the outside. The village has no bonuses inside it whatsoever, however the territories around have large bonuses. The bonuses outside the village would generally be 1-3 territories in size, but give large bonuses.

I think it would be a very unique gameplay style: everyone starts in the middle, but it you want to earn troops, you have to spread out to the corners. With there being only 4 exits from the village, games with 6-8 people in them would be very tricky to play seeing as not everyone can get out.

But before I start making the map, I would like some feedback on the concept as to major gameplay problems that might occur from this if any.

Also, if you have a layout in mind, without any graphics, that would greatly help. I sort of get what you are saying, but spesifics could be worked out better with something to go off of.

Yes, very similar to that, basically the same concept. I thinks its worth a second shot.
