Free for all

What about a free for all

No Bonus, No Boarders, No Mercy!

Just a big battle pit (like the colusseum) Or a big battle field.
About 50-100 territs and any territ can attack any territ.
No Bonuses, not even territ bonuses. Just +3 per round or +5 or whatever.

Would be awesome on foggy!
Would be a test of diplomacy, army placement, and probability.

I know this pic wouldn't work, but invision a dungeon pit or something like this.

Circus Maximus is not free for all. You move in a circle. You can't even attack backwards.
I'm thinking more like the yard in supermax: prison riot, but for the entire map.

wait, if you can attack everybody, then what would be the point in fog of war? you have t o border someone in order to see them as well as attack them

I see your point that in Fog of War, you would be able to see everybody cause you can attack everybody.
There would have to be some special code that you can put in to keep everyone foggy even when bordering them.

In Conquer 4 you can only attack adjacent spaces.
and you get bonuses.
...are you just being argumentitive???

Play supermax: prison riot
Now imagine that the whole map is like the yard
I can't explain it better than that.

The GP would not be that interesting

But if that were the case, how would you know if it were strategically smart to attack any particular territory? It doesn't seem that there would be any strategy to this at all, on foggy...it would simply be a matter of "whose dice were the kindest".

You could actually know how many territs each player had if you read the game log. Add the number of territs they conquered and subtract the number of territs that they lost. You just wouldn't know how big thier army was.
...So yeah, maybe this isn't a good foggy map. Unless you just want to see who the luckiest guy is.

Even if you knew who had the most territories, you wouldn't have any strategy aid...you said you wanted it to be "foggy even when bordering them"...so you wouldn't even know WHO YOU WERE ATTACKING. That's why I said there was no strategy involved.

If you made it an arena with obstacles that blocked sight you could make it limited free for all.

There is a board game called Tannhauser that uses colored or multi colored circles to help with line of sight that might give an idea of how to lay out the map.

Just my 2 cents worth.
