I'm not sure how the draphics would look but I have several gameplay elements that I think would be good in the right map. It is based on the idea of "buildings" where in order to do certain things you need to build buildings. Each territory would have the ability do have citrtain builginds built. Players could build buildings by conquering them, as they start out nutural. Some buildings also have negitive autodeploy bonuses that can reset to nutural. This represents the supplies needed to run things and makes people need to balance thier troops between maintaining upgrades and expanding.

1 Factories- These would be ways of increscing amount of troops you get. For example for having one factory in you homeland you get +1 for 2 Factories +3. The factories would only border the territory they are in.
2 Docks- These would allow the buiding of ships. They would border ships and the territory they are in. Each homeland could build a dock as well as cirtain territories elswere.
3 Ships- Ships would allow players to cross waterways or travel up rivers. The docks at the homelands could build 2 ships, first by conquering one then that one could attack
      A The dock
B The next ship. This ship can in turn attack landing spots further away beyond what the first ship can attack.
C Cirtain designated landing spots (One way). (note: these landing spots should be frequent so ships are the keys to expanding.
4 Markets- Markets get bonuses based on the amount of land territories you hold which are connected to the market by a dock.
5 Military factories- This is where your military is supplied from. If you hold a military factory then your ships can bombard other ships and docks. This would have a negitive bonus which can reset to nutural.

Use of ships was something I was interested in seeing in a CC map for a long time. You should be able to allocate your reinforcements between armies and ships.

5 Military factories- This is where your military is supplied from. If you hold a military factory then your ships can bombard other ships and docks. This would have a negitive bonus which can reset to nutural.
I'd suggest removing this feature as it reduces the motivation to attack. Ships should be able to automatically attack nearby ships

Your gameplay ideas are interesting and would make for an innovative map, especially the idea with the ships.
SE Asia would be a good map setting for this as it has a lot of islands and would work well with a WWII theme.

I've always enjoyed games where you have to build units. This seems to be a bridge between them. I wonder how well the current XML could support this type of game play. It certainly sounds fun to me, and I would not only be interested in playing maps like this, but also in helping to develop them. ....Ideas, graphics, coding, whatever is needed.

captinwalrus.

I'd suggest making a rough draft of a map with your ideas to get more replies. Your ideas are good and I'd hate to see them die out
