can attack any direction
suitable for any map type
if made into a map:
A-J across the top
1-10 Downwards(Yellow on the right is I5)

anything else you want to know?

Sorry to be the first person to be a negative poster but symetrical maps are generally not well recieved. There gameplay tends to be poor and unenjoyable.

By all means if you get the support go with it, but in my opinion I think it would be better to put your time into another idea :)

thanks for the feedback, ive never made a map before...and its not that hard to make an asymmetrical map. the general idea is that it is an all out out war/ffa. no choke [poionts, no safety, just damn good tactical skills will win you the game..and also a bit of lcuck now and then,lol.

I understand your idea but I think it needs changing and give it like a electronic theme and increase the size or this map will die

here is an updated version

it is bigger, 16x16, and i s asymmetrical, added the lightening effect but i want to add lightning between each place if i can, want to get rid of the background lightening in its place.

ok so everything except the writing is blurry imo and the bonuses looks like your saying -2 and -8, maybe change it to +2 and +8

its still a pretty big map territorie wise, there are 256 territories, and with that many territories, all of them attacking in 4 directions except 64 of them, there is no reall way to protect urself, and it would be a long tedious match

This map has no purpose and I would not support such a map.

Consider this, you have as Led Zeppeliner says 256 Territories and all them have 4 directions with the exception to 64 of them.

Thats 192 *4 = 768 Combinations to Program + 60*3 = 180 + 4*2 = 8

768+180+8 = 956 Different Combinations you would have to program, and that is alot of work in my honest opinion.

I agree, way to much work, this map, i can see would be in the drafting room for a long time.

I dont mind spending time on a map, time is not an issue, i juts feel that this would offer a different gameplay mode to the normal selection, i have now made the map smaller and bonuses are thus easier to get because map size is reduced:

i have left a space at the bottom so i can reduce size if still needed, and the reason it is blurry is because i am using .gif to host, rather than the ususal photoshop format.

I don't think that this is a bad map idea, but it doesn't fill a need at CC. We already have some very linear maps - Crossword, Conquer 4 - that, while different, fit the same niche market. And Widowmaker's Maze Craze map will be finished sometime soon, giving us three linear maps. I think you'll be hard-pressed to find support for this project.

What could help it is developing a theme. The abstract nature of the map doesn't help sell it - you've got circles in rows and and columns, which doesn't really get me excited. No matter how you change the layout of the circles to improve play, it's still a field of circles. Can't this type of play represent something more attractive?

Tries to make the mamp more technical/tactical and made the circles into squares, this map is a very basic draft. the red dots indicate which squares will not be there, and the pink indicates the red squares.

try to find a theme for your idea it's not just a grid.

Personally, I see nothing exciting about playing on a grid of circles. The gameplay is all about territory bonus, which you can't secure because there are too many territories to defend. And this type of gameplay pretty much means that if you start out with your territories appart, you are pretty much screwed, seeing as you can't protect yourself.

And I also fail to see the connection with this and a real battle. In a real battle, you hide behind anything you can and try to fight around it. Your entire strategy is focused on what positions you can hold because you have to defend a small area. Here, your best shot is the corners, which if you don't drop near one... too bad for you I guess.

The Conquer 4 map is small, and you can unite your territories rather quickly. But here... if you are spread apart, you had better hope some of the people around you suicide into each other and leave the area with 1s.

The only fix I can see is making many but small bonuses, so that you will be near one no matter where you drop.

yeah, you're right.

but i think that the idea of Tej is to make a map with several territories that are very strong to defend. that idea can be realized with a non regular shape map. for example, using the idea to bring a palace theme, you can make a map like this diagram:

or with another body shape.
in this mode you can have territories that can be assaulted from many other territories, but you can secure an interesting gameplay and strategy. ;)

Okay, im working on this, sticking with the electrical theme and everything, please just give me a bit of time, ive got loads of coursework in for the moment and then ive got to work on my disso, so wont be that quick for the moment being. however im liking it at the moment, i think its better than the others.

I dont know if someone has menchened this but i was wondering if the black areas are played on and if so, i think it would be a intresting idea if the were not in play and and every thing else was connected and mabey a few bombardments

I cannot believe you wrote this comment.. From one of the makers of conquer 4 .. A symetrical map also.. Hypocritical?

i can't see this map on conquer club. The gameplay doesn't seem that exciting and the map looks like squares and u used a paintbrush tool. In my opinion this map would be alot better if there were less squares and different shapes as well. Maybe make the square the middle of the map and all the other shapes protrude from that
