Original Risk Map missing?!?

Hi,

I'm a new member here at Conquer Club but I have played the original risk board game more than once :). I was wondering is it really so that noone has yet made a copy of the real original Risk map for this online version? That ugly 'Classic Shapes' map doesn't count. I'd like to see a map with real graphics, just like in the other cool looking maps, not just boxes connected with lines. :(
Actually I still not believe this and I think I might have just missed it. In any case, can someone help me (and us) to find map de originalé. :? Thank you in advance.

Stupid copyright. Classic is now under "Classic Shapes" and "Classic Art" — they have the same exact gameplay but different graphics and names. It sucks that Hasbro pursued the copyright…

We used to have one - copyright issues with Hasbro however forced CC to adopt the current classic Shapes and Art. What he said ^^^^

Hi again,

O_O
Hasbro has rights for the map of the world? But I can't find Hasbro's signature in my geography books covers, the publisher is in trouble if hasbro finds it out, I better hide it...
This is ridiculous.

ps. Thanks for quick answers

Not the map of the world, but the actual "Classic" map — territory names and the basic idea, mostly.

No, Hasbro don't have copyright for a map of the world, which is why we have maps like Doodle Earth, World 2.1 etc... What they do have copyright over, is the particular interpretation of a world map which they have adapted for use with their Risk game.

Did Hasbro even pursue the copyright issue? I was under the impression that the change was pre-emptive and not as a result of threatened action

You gotta be kidding, tons of ppl play doodle earth assassin. It's like the easiest (and cheapest) way to gain/lose points.

qft... and doodle earth is not meant to be a replacement for classic, so your plan's accuracy has shit to do with what happens in doodle... classic art is the best reinterpretation we've got... so deal with it til lack makes a deal w/ hasbro to become the manager of hasbro's brand new online site, conquerclub.
