dark side of the moon

Ok, here is an idea that a friend (Lenin2urRomanov) and i came up with.

We want to create a CC map based on a battle between humans and aliens that is taking place on the dark side of the moon. We have gotten a head start on the background art and are starting the territory art. We would like some help and suggestions from the CC community so we can make this a great map.

I have attached our first draft... so let me try to explain what is happening here.

Red = Alien forces (6 territories, 1 bonus)
Blue = Human forces (6 territories, 1 bonus)

Green = Netural (15 territories, 4 different bonuses)

The dotted lines show 2 way paths between the territories (each circle will be a bonus, and so will each large square)

The neutral star is a bombardment turret that attacks the center of both bases (HQ).

The red and blue stars can attack each other.

Please ask questions and I will try to answer them to the best of my ability. This is my first attempt at making a map and I hope it won't be my last!

Sounds like a good idea to me, i hope you see it through.

Crits at first glance:

The title needs a little more glow, kind of hard to see.

I don't like the idea of using squares and circles, your regions and territories should be expanded to fit the geography of the moon I think, maybe craters for neutral territories?

I'd prefer to see a circular landscape of the moon rather than the horizontal one you've got already.

I also don't get what makes the earthlings or the aliens special as far as the map goes... the red base could easily be china or russia or something. Somehow tweak the gameplay to make holding alien spaces unique and the same for earthlings?

Overall the map seems small to me, but maybe thats how you want it, I don't know that itd go well with 8 people.

Anyway, those are my thoughts, good luck with the map!

The moon does not have a "dark" side, just a near side and a far side, both of which experience two-week days followed by two-week nights.
Having said that, you could have some mechanic that made building dependant on sunlight. you can only build in the day. Actually, that means that you need a "whole-moon" map, and builds only happen wherever it's day right now, which changes each turn....

Interesting concept. To get this to work you are going to need to make a lot of changes. I would increase the territ count slightly and develop a theme. See if it works?
