Ok, N00B here making a suggestion about the world of Krynn.
Anyone here ever read the DragonLance books? They were based off of a game of Dungeons & Dragons. Either you read them or you didn't and I don't expect a response to this thread by anyone who didn't read them.
Anyway, these were excellent books and were based around a world that was huge. I don't have any serious Ideas yet, I just brought up the Idea because it was in my head. Any contributions to the idea by fellow enthusists would be appreciated, so feel free to make some suggestions, please.
In the mean time,I will start drawing up a rough map.
Goodnight.

Based on any map idea that is taken from something already out there, this would suffer from copyright rules. It you want to get this one rolling I suggest you contact the copyright holder of "Dragon lance" and get permission to do such a thing!
I bid you luck

I suppose this is true. I guess my next question would be to the one who put the MiddleEarth map in our selection here. How did he go about getting permission for that. I'm sure it would be up to me to follow a similar path, no?

As far as I remeber the copy right for all of the lord of the rings material is relseased from copy right since the person who did own the copywright has been dead for over 70 years. But I will have to look into this.

Hmm, another good point.
Anyway, I've begun making e-mails to people who might be able to help me attain permission for this map. Hopefully, I get some results here. If anyone has any info on where to look to find the individuals Who I would talk to about this, please let me know. In the meantime I'm working away on a prototype of this map. Still not sure if it should be all of Krynn or just the continent of Ansalon. Somehow, I think just Asalon would be more interesting.

Just Ansalon is better idea, the other parts are not so detailed in the books.

To my knowledge, JRR Tolkien died on 2nd September 1973, and first published TLOTR in 1954-1955, so that couldn't be the reason (at least a precise statement of it).

the LOTR maps and DragonLance maps were drawn by the same person, Karen Wynn Fonstad. i believe she died a few years ago. i started a thread about this a year ago or so. if you have any mapmaking skills, JM, i'd give you a hand with this if you're interested. PM me back.
