Disclaimer - This Idea Is A Work In Progress, I am still coming up with territories, researching the branches of the US Military, and thinking of map specific rules that can mix the game play up a little.

Last night I got off of cc, and in the wake of playing some of the new and highly innovative maps, I started brainstorming ideas for a map in a style not done before. That's when I came up with the idea for a map showcasing the US Military. Here's an outline of what I brainstormed for for the map so far:

MAP

Continents -
~~~~~~Marine Corps -
~~~~~~~~~~~~~Territories -
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Recruiting Station1 USMC
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~RS2 USMC
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~USMC #s 1 - 6
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Eagle
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Globe
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Anchor
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~M16
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Marine Force Recon
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~DRAFT! USMC
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Parris Island
~~~~~~Army -
~~~~~~~~~~~~~Territories -
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Recruiting Station1 ARMY
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~RS2 ARMY
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Army #s 1 - 10
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~A.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~R.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~M.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Y.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Black Hawk Helicopter
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~US Army Rangers
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~DRAFT! ARMY
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~West Point
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Army National Guard
~~~~~~Navy -
~~~~~~~~~~~~~Territories -
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Recruiting Station1 NAVY
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~RS2 NAVY
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Navy #s 1 - 8
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~U.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~S.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~N.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Nuclear Submarine
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~US Navy SEALS
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~DRAFT! NAVY
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Annapolis
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Coast Guard
~~~~~~Air Force -
~~~~~~~~~~~~~Territories -
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Recruiting Station1 AIR FORCE
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~RS2 AIR FORCE
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Air Force #s 1 - 6
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Wing 1
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Wing 2
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Star
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~C-130 Transport Air Craft
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Pilot
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~DRAFT! AIR FORCE
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Air National Guard
~~~~~~Other Territories (Starting Points)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Civilian1
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~C2
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~C3
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~C4
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~C5
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~C6
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~C7
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~C8

Map Specific Rules
~~~~~~Territories, Continents, and Bonuses
~~~~~~~~~~~~Territories are all neutral (except for Civilian) and have 2, 3, or 15 based on their worth
~~~~~~~~~~~~Continents bonuses are based on number of territories (DRAFT! are not required for the bonus) Marine Corps - 4 Army - 7 Navy - 6 Air Force - 4
Continents are connected by Special territories that allow transport, the reach of these territories is limited by the major capabilities of their branch (air force can reach any where, marine corps can reach all but air force, Army can reach marines, Navy can reach marines and air force)
~~~~~~~~~~~~Bonuses are received for holding certain pairs and groups of the uniquely named territories (Bonuses for Marine Corps: Eagle Globe and Anchor - 1, M16 Marine Force Recon and Parris Island - 2)
~~~~~~Civilians -
Starting points
Can only attack and fortify to recruitment stations
Can only be attacked and fortified to by the various "DRAFT!" territories.
~~~~~~DRAFT!
DRAFT! Territories are the only way to conquer the civilian territories and an alternate way to get to the other branches from your own.

This is all I have so far I am constantly thinking of more on my free time.

Of course I'm not an expert on all the branches of the US Military so I need help coming up with territories for each branch. I want the territories to represent the unique aspects of each branch, like the basic insignia, birth date, founder, branch specific weapons, etc. I want territories that when you see their names, you automatically think of their branch (As an example Eagle, Globe, and Anchor, M16 for the Marine Corps).

I would really be awesome if a lot of you are interested in it and if someone can invest time into making it into a map when we develop the idea enough (For I nor my computer have the capacity to create an average looking map).

All the branches of the US Military are doing such a bad ass job overseas and at home and I want this to be a tribute to them.

I did not add a poll with something like "did u leik mah uber 1337 eyedia?????//???/??? VOTE WAHT U THOT!!!1!!!!1!!!!!!!1" because if you really are interested in this idea and/or would like to see this become a map, I expect you to show it by posting a reply and bumping this to the top, rather then just vote and let it get lost in the endless abyss that is the CC forums.

Thank you if you actually read all or most of that, and don't worry, I got China's call, I already know they want their wall back.

I thought coast guard was an extension of the navy, so I put it as one of the navy's territories. lol

When I have free time I will draw up a map or make one on paint

as a soldier in the US Army, I like the idea... But here are some thoughts... Army can attack the airforce(cause the af started in the army) and the marines(both being ground units)... The airforce can attack the army and navy... Marines, navy and army... Navy, af and marines...

Marines get better bonuses for being stronger, but also have stronger negatives because they are dumber...
air force gets weaker bonuses because they are panzies and lesser negatives for being smarter...
army and navy should be about even...
I like the idea with the draft and recruiters...
and maybe have the 48 states be the civilian sector with no additional bonuses...
Each branch should be in a box at a corner or along the edge... And only one spot can attack to one of the branches and a diff spot for the other... (kind think of the new world map) bombardments could be something to think about with that... And also add the military academies to the state they are in, with that being a two way between the civilian and each branch...

Those are just a few ideas... If you don't want to continue with this idea I might be able to work on it alongside my zodiac idea... I'll be back to work in about 9 days and will be working on my idea again then...

I have been thinking about this...

the more i think about it, the more i dislike my idea of all 48 states... maybe just an outline of the US broken into 20 territs...

8 civillian starting points...
4 military academies
4 recruiters
4 drafts

then each branch would have a section... which would be comprised of various aspects of that service... like maybe 5-10 territs each... and keeping it accurate the larger forces would have more territs and the smaller less?
i would also rethink my idea of biasing the bonuses/decays... its not really fair, nor politically correct, to assume one is better than the other... each branch has its pride and will have something bad to say about the others...

if there is support for this I can start working on a draft as soon as next week...

Sounds like a great idea, but the coast guard is one of the 5 military services. I'm not going to give you a history lesson, but even though we are in the Department of Homeland Security, and fall under the NAVY in the time of war, we follow the same rules, regulations, pay, etc. like the other 4 services. If you included the CG, make it a small bonus. good luck. Just dont put the CG as part of the navy, that's all i ask.
