if thats the map it is really good, i also like the idea. i love turkey and the places inside, it is one of my top Nations.

good idea - I was in Istanbul this summer before I went to berlin, so it was 50/50 which map I started. it's a good bet for a successful map - natural unpassable borders, distinct quarters and districts, etc.
You need a lot of work on your geography. For instance, the Golden Horn is the waterway that separates Beyoglu in the north from the Bazaar quarter in the south, not a district; Topkapi (which could be walled to add another unpassable) is the wrong place, Sultanahmet the district is usually written as one word, etc.
As for the airports attacking everything, well, neither is a military airport, so this is a stretch to me.
And please read the How to Make a Map thread and provide basic info.

For now, focus on unpixelating the borders, balancing the continents and getting rid of those four-way boundaries.

I don't know much about Turkey, but I do think that is a cool map.
Good luck with it...
P.S. I have no idea why there are so many 'pixel' related compaints. I almost suspect they are some sort of inside joke. Still, with some work, I think this will be a popular option.

I think this could be a good map, but there are certain things i would look at:
1. the images behind the territories are a bit distracting...see if you can't work them into the map on the outer edges in areas which are not playable areas.
2. Someof the colours are quite pleasant but the two yellows are too close and i think the green is out of place with the rest of the colours
3. you have several 4 way borders which are the community don't really like....can you amend these please
4. can i ask what program you're using to map this map.
5. your borders are bit think in some areas and uneven lines...they appear as though they are hand drawn and gone over...are you abel to do vector style borders?
6. Because Attaturk was founder of modern Turkey, perhaps make him more prominent on the outside areas
7. perhaps the flag might work better behind the legend somehow.
Just suggestions. but this is a good start graphically for a draft.
Perhaps other would comment on gameplay.

My 1st concern gameply wise is the golden horn continent. It appears that this continent can be held with 2 terrs if yor also own bakirkoy. This continenet really needs to be open up a little more.
As for the airports i like the idea of being able to reach all terrs from the airport, but i think bombard rather than attack and advance is the way to go on this one. I feel it would open up a new style of gameplay to try out.

I think this will make a great map, with the water in the middle. I would definitely play it.
Two remarks however:
1: Turkey stopped using Arabic script in 1928 (and the jet fighters imply a modern map)
2: The guy's name is Atatürk, with 1 t, father of Turks. He has nothing to do with Mohamed Atta

how much accuracy should i shoot for, geographically speaking. i have been living here in istanbul for about 5 months now and know that my map isnt correct, but i didnt think it would matter much for this game. im also aware that Turks dont speak arabic, but there is a lot of arabic writing found all over the city, so i thought it would look nice as decoration. but if you think it would give some people wrong info, i will remove it and put some other stuff instead, like the turkish ö,ç,ş,ğ,ü letters.

I like this a lot... I was thinking of doing an istanbul on myself but don't have the time....
One thing though. The names you have given for you teretorys i think could be MUCH better.
If you want I could give you a hand with the names as I have Ist. maps and know most of the places too.

That's because Ataturk changed the script when he came to power from the arabic to the latin to help the contry modernise.
However Arabic is considerd to be a holy languige to the muslims so in the same way as the cherches ust to always have there sermons in Latin even though no one could understand the mosks still use arabic.
They also beleve that the only way to get true benefit from reading the qoran is to read it in arabic even though they can't understand it (makes no sence to me but hey).
Also any historical bilding that is older than say 90-100 years if they wrote anything on them it will all be in "Osmanlı Turkçe" or Osmanli Turkish as that is what was used in Turkiye all though the Otoman empyer up untill Ataturk.

You can get away with inaccuracies, but why would you want to? Anything that's wrong will be caught by users - I've only spent a week in the city and I found some glaring inaccuracies, the worst of which I think is the use of "Golden Horn" as a region name... this is sure to bother a lot of players.

Well to start with it would be best to name the islands by there prober names:
1st island is called: "Kaınalı Ada"
2nd: "Burgaz Ada"
3ed: "Heybeli Ada"
And you already have the 4th as "Büyük Ada" (in English anyway)
I also think that it would be best to have the attack lines to the islands folowing the roots that the ferrys take. For example the ferry that goes to the islands form the eropean side sarts from "Eminonu" then goes to "Kadıköy" and then goes to the islands.
As far as naming the teritorys.... well thats going to be VERY hard. The first thing that I see right now is that "Gayretepe" is achualy south of "Levent".
The thing is, the territories you've got incumpus so meny different ariyers in Istanbul. It also depends on how big a map you want. With Istanbul you almost make it as big as you want.

Well done it's looking much better...
I think you will neet to do somthing about the walls around Fatih to make it clear that there not impassable objects....
Other wyse it's looking good.... what are you aming to get done first... ther look of it or the game play?

Good for a start. I don't think I care for the water / green background. It looks a little off. And the bright red arrows are a little too bold. The bridges look okay, and I like the colors and pattern you used for the lands. Nice start though.
