before i start i would like to apologise for the incomplete state of this quick scetch in paint, i'm not an artist and i get very impatient and couldnt be bothered copying virtually the same thing on the other side of the map, and for reference the arrows mean one way borders (read on to hear about it)

edit:(70 countries)

while having a ook at this forum a few days ago i came accross this idea, it would work a lot diferently to any current maps available, trying to make it work exactly as its fps counterpart would work (you can jump off cliffs but not up them, one way though the base teleport (base to center), each vehicle you control giving you an advantage (in this case 1 reenforcement) and each weapon doing the same, having a red vehicle bonus (one side of the map vehicles), base bonus and weapon bonus and the same for blue side with the whole of the green area of each side giving a continent bonus.

right, i hope that was a good explaination, i'm dyslexic and thing dont always sound as i expect them too, now on to the north and south cave networks. Each cave network counts as a continent with a small continent bonus but notable intresting quirks. they contain a weapon (i think just one) giving an extra army per go and the overshield (in halo it gave you double the strength to your shield) now i dont know how the programming works but i thought a nice way to implement this would be to give the defender an extra die when defending from this position and maybe from the entire continent when the continent is owned so as to mean that the massive bonusses the enemy gets from their base arnt the end of the world, similarly there are invisibility bonuses which could possibly add an offensive die from their position only (the small purple square offset from each base) (i would imagine the balance would be too offset other wise)

so thats it, what do you all think?

p.s. if the html doesnt work then heres a link to the host image

Copyrighted....You'll need permission from Bungie(or perhaps Microsoft) to make that map.

What if you call it something else and change it enough to make the them the same but the actual picture/map looks different?

Perhaps... I'm no specialist when it comes to legal affairs.. I just assumed because of the way the map is now it would need permission from a company big-wig to continue.

Blood Gulch was suggested a while back, and I'm going to suggest the same thing here as I di there... RED VS BLUE!

if coagulation and the map are copyright then i could change the map quite considerably to make it unique, (red vs blue is probably copyright too) however, in principal, will this type of map be popular?

Depends..

Graphically, there is LOTS of room to improve. Also, I don't find the territories well defined.. My advice: If you're going to peruse this further, you should find out about any copyright issues first.

There is no way Bungie would let you do this.

I don't know how your gonna get past Bungie, but RvB will let you. Remember, they ran into copyright problems too...

so do you recon the same map with red vs blue as the title would be ok? its going a little slow on the creative front
