any idea's on...
+ bonuses
+ what territory will join
+ number of territorys
I'm think that the map should be rather complex, considering the complexity of the society that lived in the game.
There is an island continent with a town and a city on it. Cities should have an autodeploy of something like +2 while the towns like Burg or the place near the marsh have an autodeploy of +1. There should be key areas that when in added in conjunction together should give you a bonus. Say you have one of the dragon dens...+1, but make them start off neutral no matter what. If you have 2, then +2. All the way to all four dragon dens, then you get a +4. However, the thing to consider is Althena's Fortress. I say if you have Althena's Fortress in conjunction with the Dragon Dens, then a +6 should be awarded. But Althena's Fortress would likewise have to be neutral from the start, only with a much larger standing army on it...considering it's the fortress of a goddess.
The areas surrounding the towns, cities, special areas should be regular territories...divided into I don't know how much to be honest.
There should be sea territories which can only attack the ports...meaning specifically between Saith and Meribia.
Considering this is on the moon technically, hence 'Lunar', there should be territories beyond the lush green area of the center of the map that looks like the moon, but have the map steadily look like the moon, as if life could slowly just less and less support itself.
Within this deadened region should be tons of territories in between mountains and gorges with only a single city out in it, with the same +2 autodeploy...but have it start off neutral as well, considering all the mountains and gorges would give the player who held that a heavily choked off points in several cataracts could potentially win the game every single time, just because of location.
If possible, sections of mountains and gorges should be made into territories as well, but have them start off as neutral...considering the fact that not too many people would live there.
That's about all I have off the top of my head...if you need I can list it out in better detail...which I might just do for my own sake.
But this is the sort of project I only desire to pitch the idea and see where it goes. That kind of map is like trying to swath out huge lands in Middle Earth with the official map to work with....it takes HOURS AND DAYS of time to finish a quarter of it.
Only this would be to less of an extreme.
