Hey I had an idea for a map that I think would be really great. I drew up a rough (really rough) copy just using the Microsoft paint program. The idea/ focus of the map is the Second Punic Wars. Fought between Rome and Carthage (Hannibal) in the 2nd century bc, its the war where Hannibal crossed elephants through the Alps. The rough copy I did, I think is awsome and has amazing potential. The problem is I know almost nothing about creating a map. I dont even know how to get the jpeg image from my computer to this site to even show anyone. if anyone could shed some light on the subject I would really appreciate it. Like I said the map is sweet, but I really need some help on this. Thanks alot.

Host the image at imageshack. Then when your image is online, get the url of your image and post it on the forum using the [BigImg][/BigImg] tags:

Example:

[BigImg]http://imageshack.com/yourimage.jpg[/BigImg] <-- this is what you'll put in your post.

Welcome to the Foundry! The Tutorials & Guides forum at http://www.conquerclub.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=466 is the best place to begin when you start making maps, particularly the announcement threads at the top. Sounds like you have a good concept for a map; I look forward to seeing it.

Thanks a lot for the info. So I put the image online and ill share it now. Like I said it is VERY rough draft I threw together on Mircosoft paint in an hour. If this gains any support ill be more motivated to creat a better draft. Please do not judge me on the crappiness of the image, but on the map itself and the prospective game play. I know its a crappy drawing so you dont need to tell me that. Thanks for any input, ideas, feedback.

Im actually in the process of making a new one that istn so jumbled up. Like I said I realize it is a terrible drawing, but the idea is good. I should have a better one up soon

Which means it actually hasn't been done. Hey, I started working on my nordic countries map even though there's 2 or 3 scandinavia maps in the bin... I started working on the moon map even though there's what, 4-5 moon maps in the bin...

Point is, there's no map currently quenched or in the foundry of this subject. If the OP wants to develop this map, I say let him do it.

Oh of course. What I meant is, there is already a good draft available.
