Good choice =D> , but a hard one...you chosed a zone with a long historical background...a great gameplay is required ;)

Few quick geographic suggestions for you:

Rwanda is composed by 5 provincies:

North Province: (5 regions)
show: NP

East Province: (7 regions)
show: EP

South Province: (8 regions)
show: SP

West Province: (7 regions)
show: SP

Kigali Province: (3 regions)
show: KP

Some borders aren't very clear... :?
I supposed that the background is the national flag of rwanda...add in somehow the sun in the upper right part and make colors more similar.
show: flag

Keep it on! :D

Nice start and a good idea, we don't have enough African national maps here.

Just a comment on the graphics, perhaps change the terr. names to a color other than red. I find it a tad difficult to read against the backdrop of the other red terrs.

On gameplay, I think I see what your going for, dividing it up into different regions with diff consequences is a good way to go. I suppose you just need to explain it a little more concisely.

Might want to read up on your history. We never invaded anything.

And Black Hawk Down was based in Somalia.

HI sailorseal,

the new look is very nice.

About bonuses, if I hold 2 danger zone i have a -2 bonus? Can you clarify this aspect if possible?

You have to fix some names...Administrative provincies ;)

Actually the lakes make some impassable but i'm not sure they are the real transposition of the hydrography of this zone (sorry for the big image  ):
image

There're two big river in this zone, you can use them to set some good impassable borders
And take a look to the mountains, if you want a valid alternative for the western part

Anyway, good work...

You're on the right way =D>

I have to say, since I last looked at this (Didn't comment then, didn't have time), this has really improved!! =D>

1) Love the look of the different territories
2) The background needs a bit more flair IMO
3) It seems weird that there is a line that seems to go through the title
4) The lakes do not really seem to fit

Amazingly thats all the critics I have currently. Keep up the good work! =D>

I would change the wording of the bonuses, something about it just doesn't seem right

The Danger Zone one is the most confusing. The other two make sense to me.

Any suggestion?

Maybe say "-1 per 1 held"
"-2 per 3 held"

but I would rather you just say "-1 per 1 held" makes more sense for a danger zone
If I were you I would take a good look at dust bowl and base it off that

I don't think this is a good idea. I.e. basing the map on the genocide with safe, neutral and danger zones. It sets a bad precedent and people may start making more questionable political maps. Also, it leaves a bad taste in the mouth. And as far as I know, the official policy of Rwanda is to reconcile and, more or less and through laws infirnging speech etc., wipe that part of the country's history off the map/mind. All in all making a game-play map based on this historical event is just a strange thing to do. Just make a regular map depicting Rwanda.

Firstly, Rwanda is a country that cannot help but be associated with atrocities of the past.... While I wouldn't want to celebrate genocide in any shape or form, there is definitely some scope to add some history to the map - perhaps by incorporating a pre 1990/post 1994 aspect to it? The following map shows sites where genocide occurred, the location of mass graves, and sites of resistance to the regime... it;s difficult to make out clearly, but further research could give an interesting backstory and theme to the map?

Q: What the hell were you thinking?

I'm going to have to agree with Alstergren here.... I think making a map incorporating mass murder is exceedingly insensitive. Remember, real, live people have experienced these events, and/or are currently experiencing similar events. In my mind its just not appropriate for something like this to be turned into a game.
Others and I had the same reaction to 'battle for Iraq', as well as some moron's suggestion of putting a 'ground zero deduction' spot in the NYC map. Its tasteless at best.

Didn't make a big stink of it then... won't make a big stink of it now... just putting my opinion out there - i don't think it should be made, and i won't play on it.

I don't think I am incorporating mass murder or trying to. This is a political map.
Where was everyone when Germany was made?

But it's not. You have "danger zones" which correspond to danger of killing, I presume, "neutral", and "safe."
Where was everyone when Germany was made?

That, on the other hand, is a political map.

All that I meant was this: it seems that this region was chosen because of the political conflict and genocide (not because you just happen to like the country - or because there is an overabundance of Rwandans here on CC)
- and while your map does not ask players to simulate the mass murder through their game play, simply by making the map and using 'danger/safe' zones, you ARE in fact incorporating the idea of the genocidal events into your map.

If its a political map, it should simply be the country, with particular regions included, natural boundaries, etc... with standard gameplay that doesn't involve any implications of the turmoil in that country's history.

but like i said, i'm not going to make a big stink - if you want to do it, and the majority of posters agree with you, then go ahead and make it. my protest has been made, and that's all i need to say.

Where was everyone when Germany was made?

we don't really have to explain the difference here, do we?

Alright this idea was suggested by Kill and I was told standard would not work
EDIT: Just to clarify the regions were based on political stability of the local government

Should DANGER be changed?
