The battle of Stoney Creek, was one of the major turning points in the war. Five hundred Canadians defeated 5000 Americans!!! As Canadian, living in Canada and working for the State University of New York, we (faculty) spent a lot of time discussing the War of 1812, of which the final battle was the Battle of New Orleans in 1814, AFTER the Treay of Ghent was signed in late 1813.
Major battles included Chrysler Farm in Eastern Ontario, Stoney Creek, Queenston Heights, and Lundy's Lane in Ontario, Lake Champaign (near Plattsburgh) and Lewiston in New York, and Detroit. Canada also had raids on Washington, burning the white house, and requiring the Americans to fix and then paint it ... WHITE! thus it is not the White House, and New Orleans. Numerous other battles including Montreal, Fort York (Toronto) and Kingston.
The map is a good start, but I would keep it to the battle areas, and include the major battles on the map. Bombardment of Washington and New Orleans.
just my thoughts
