Wonderland

Postby lilacfrostyness on Mon Aug 24, 2009 6:46 pm

I saw that someone had mentioned this once before, back in 2006, but no one took it up.
Would anyone be interested in making an Alice in Wonderland, or even just a Wonderland map? Wonderland has so many interesting colorful places in it, with so many characters, it would be an exciting map.

The copyright is expired in both the U.S. and U.K. for the pictures and literature, so it would be legal. You couldn't use the images from the Disney movie, but I'm sure you could make some that looked slightly different.

I have no clue how to make a map, but I think it would be wonderful, if only one of the map-makers thought so...

Are there any actual maps of Wonderland? If there's nothing to work off of, what you're proposing is a theme, not an actual location. Either way, I don't think Conquer Club's system could do such a complex and bizarre world as Wonderland much justice.

Lewis never drew a map, so it would be an interpretation, or a theme, either one.

In the second book, Wonderland is a chess board of mirrors, with the pieces in certain spots, and the squares having different landscapes. Kind of like: http://www.purplepawn.com/2008/07/02/ That could be done as well, or instead.

I do agree it would take a lot of work to make a map as wonderful as Wonderland is in everyone's head, if possible at all. If I knew how, I'd try. Just wondering if anyone else wants to.

Eh... yes/no. The chess part is Wonderland book 2, but the squares were each their own different place, like hills and desert except wonderland style.

But 2 chess CC games may be a bit much unless you could figure out a way to make them different, gameplay-wise.

So I guess the first book map/theme is a more realistic idea.

Hah, I kid. The first book is where all the good stuff is, anyway.
