Map for 300 the movie

Postby Xav1er on Tue Feb 10, 2009 3:17 am

Just an idea, could be worth while if the proper history is dug up, that being the naval battle off the shore, and the land battle as well. Could be made with a feudal war kind of touch to it.

Instead of making a map of the movie 300 you could go for a map of the Battle of Thermopalye, from which the movie is very loosely based.

Also this battle has not yet been copyrighted. :D

if you're making a 300/Thermopylae map, then the entire thing would have to revolve around one single chokepoint.

Could make for an interesting map, or just an annoying one

Don't forget about the secret path through the mountains that the Persians were finally able to exploit.

Also if they include the naval battle that was fought just off shore at the same time it could add more dimension.

I think its a good idea, :) the battle is part of history... so copy-right isn't a problem

The naval battle is why the Spartans only had to defend the Hot Gates rather than the entire Greek coastline. The Athenian navy forced the Persians to land on a far, cliff-lined beach that only led in by the narrow pass.
