Halo 3 or COD 4 map [copyright][idea]

getting permission from microsoft and bungie, or infinity ward and activision would be immensely difficult.


So unless you want to get in trouble for copyright infringement then you better get a bunch of people behind you on this, get any or all of the companies I listed above on the phone, and or possibly getting a shit ton of cash.

My first instinct was to lock this down because of copyright.

However, we could make a FPS themed map. It wouldn't need to be Halo 3 or CoD 4 specific. Just kind of a charactiture of the FPS scene in general, in map form. Maybe with heavy influences from said games.

That is a tall order that will require a lot of creativity on someone's part though.

What I See When I Think Of It

Player/Character spaces where people start (spawn points). Weapon spaces which add abilities (like a rocket launcher that does bombardment) or extra bullets (this map's name for the armies).

I invision the layout of the map to be some sort of underground complex like Doom, maybe even with some 'alien/zombie' mobs and traps.

I don't know, just a bunch of random thoughts.

I'm not familiar with the games so cannot speak to them. But as Coleman suggests, I highly recommend that if you want something along these lines that you do something that may be inspired by those games but does not directly borrow from them. And you seem willing to do so so more power to you!

Just a question, why is it that there are all of these map ideas that have been shut down because of copyright issues, when there is an 'Elder Scrolls' map? (click the link below) Are the things in the Elder Scrolls not copyrighted?

Also, I think it would be kind of cool to have a halo map. Like you could have each major thing be a territory and have them connect based on what they connect to in the game (Earth leads to Earth Portal, Earth Portal leads to a section of the Arc, the sections of the Arc can attack the Arc's control room, the Arc's control room can bombard each of the halo rings, you get a +<large number> bonus for holding all of the rings, the Arc's control room, and the index. I could go on all day about this) Anyway, all die-hard Halo fans would love it ^_^
