I've got an idea...

Postby The Wyvern on Sun Sep 21, 2008 12:09 pm

...The theme of the map is one that only I, Fractal, and one other person not on CC know. But the core layout of the map is an inspiration, if not an evolution of the map "Battle for Iraq!".
I've already started an XML, and a draft from that.

I also have a game mechanics idea, that I think makes the game more interesting than with dice...
...if anyones' interested...?

  1. If you're making a map it goes in the drafting room
  2. Dont do the XML until you're WAYYY in the main foundry
  3. Maps are not allowed to be hand drawn.

well, i didn't think that hand drawings would count.
and it really doesnt matter when you start programming - in fact it should come first and last - fractal taught me that.
and i don't have photoshop on this computer so i can't make professional until it do.

can i add territories be connected to each other, but you can't attack them? essentially, the opposite of bombarding.

it acts like a gate, you can move your armies back an forth when you possess both ends, but an opposing player that owns ther other side cannot attack you and vice versa.

3) The working image needs to be beyond rough draft state. This means that you must provide the following:
  • A working image done in some kind of graphic software. Pencil drawn images and images done on paint will not be accpected.
  • Two quality updates must be provided.

I think that is wrong. My next map I was planning to sketch with pencil / paper, scan into Photoshop to touch-up, but have the overall appearance of a real pencil sketch. It wasn't going to be a 5 minute job - but a lot of work. Damn rules. You know, a working image can be beyond a rough draft, and still be created with a pencil.
