C9 Risk (Town wins)

Postby pancakemix on Sun Sep 07, 2008 8:01 pm

The chu tried something like this a while back, but it didn't work because hat scum were stacked and the map was too small. So I'm going to try it again. It works roughly like a normal mafia game, just with Risk. There's no day/night phases, and you just attack who you want to lynch. The two mafia are working together, obviously. I'll need 7.

1. / (Townie)
2. Ani (Scum)
3. Firth (Townie)
4. Kwan (Scum)
5. DE8 (Useless Cop)
6. Chu (Townie)
7. Sheep (Townie)

I'll also need map suggestions and settings, but the game will be freestyle regardless. Beyond that, standard rules apply.

Sounds interesting, In please.
But I would need to hear a little more about how the game works before suggesting anything.

I think it should be large and no gimmicks, but not World 2.1. Otherwise it'll probably fail. Also flat rate, these should give more time for diplomacy to appear.

Well if it's going to be like risk, perhaps a map where everyone is close, but with separate borders might be ideal, such as New World, still I can't say unless there at least an outline of how our game is supposed to play out.

flat rate would force people to attack, maybe no cards would work better,

Pick settings or I'll pick them for you.

In general, you're trying to figure out who is working with whom by seeing how they act on continents continents, who they attack, etc. Scum know who the other scum is, but townies are on their own, like normal. The "lynch" is just who you want to kill by eliminating. Eliminate the other group and your side wins. Beyond that, standard rules without a day or night.

Re: C9 Risk (Full! Settings needed)

I think it should be Standard, Freestyle, Flat Rate, Chained, Sunny, with the map not being Feudal/any AOR, or New World.

Standard - no other setting really works besides terminator, and I don't think it's best here...
Freestyle - I forgot my reason, but I think I'll remember it eventually
Flat Rate - Process of elimination on this one, Escalating would be over too quickly, and No Cards usually encourages building until a point, where it just goes all down hill.
Chained - I think it gives a chance for mafia to screw up if not careful.
Sunny - You need to see the whole board to find evidence.

Not feudal/any AOR or New World [or circus maximus] - because it really doesn't give a chance for you to find out mafia, because normally, you have to end up all out killing them...

1 question though:

Is this a 1 game process, or is it something like, 1 game per day/night? Like after 1 person's killed, another game is set up and that's day 2? [and so on and so forth?]

I was only planning on one game total, since my prem goes on the 25th, but that idea isn't terrible.

Yeah, that could work out. Thing is, a good number here are not premium. They may not have room to play while another game is going on.
