Neighborhood Mafia >THE WEEK ENDS HOLY SHIT IT'S OVER SCENE

Game over! Congrats to all; it's been really fun modding this game!

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Welcome to Neighborhood Mafia. Before we begin, I want to let you know that this will not be a completely typical game. I like to focus on the role play aspect of mafia, and so many unspoken "rules" of mafia will be broken. I hope this leads to a interesting, fun experience. There are three key differences that will manifest themselves in my games:

1) Rarely will a group of people gather for the age-old pastime of enraged mobbery, where the vast majority of them are complete strangers. Generally, a town knows who its doctor is.
In this game, this will be applied in this way: You will know each other's character. You might know their age, or their occupation; you will probably know what your character would know if this were real life. What you won't know, however, are the two most important things when it comes to mafia: what a person is capable of, and what their goals are. Who knows if the town mayor is really looking out for your interests? Who knows whether the paranoid conspiracy theorist actually has a direct wire to the CIA?
tl;dr: You'll know who each other are from the start, but that won't do you any good.

2) I like dynamic roles. Many roles will change under certain circumstances, though not all. Also, don't expect things to follow typical mafia rules, and lingo. Someone who's character is a doctor, might have a role that doesn't involve protecting. Knowledge of normal mafia roles will not help you in this game. Focusing on normal mafia roles will actually slow you down.

3) Win conditions are a little strange in my games. Because I'm interested in gray areas, you'll actually get a score between 0 (loss) and 1 (win). For the vast majority of roles, you'll either get a 0 or a 1, or maybe a .5. For instance, basic townie gets half a win for the destruction of the mafia, and the other half for living to see it. If you have a dynamic role, and screw up, perhaps you'll have a chance at still getting a partial win with new conditions.
Don't worry, I won't make this excessively complicated, but I did put a lot of thought into this. What's more, your score will give you priority into my future games, and may effect role assignments.

Neighborhood Mafia Rules:

1. Follow my rules. Being good with the almighty Mod brings good luck in Mafia.

2. There is to be no discussing the game outside of this game except where explicitly allowed. Doing so will have consequences.

3. Do not edit your posts. If you say something scummy by accident, be a good player and explain it away. Even if you think nobody's looking, the slight chance you get caught is not worth it. Just be careful with your posts.

4. Do not quote your role PM. Quoting other PMs is acceptable, and fake quotes are awesome if you think you can imitate me well. Don't wait for me to verify what someone's saying claiming via a modkill. If they break a rule, I have subtler ways of dealing with it.

5. Once you die, you're buried. You are allowed one post after, to complain, as long as you're not posting anything of substance. Feel free to come back when the game is over and discuss what you knew.

6. Be active. Submarining will hurt you in this game.

7. Vote for a lynch in bold, or vote 'no lynch' in bold. Unvotes are not necessary, unless you plan on retracting your vote completely.

8. There are no set deadlines, but if things are taking too long I will instate one as needed.

9. If you have any questions PM me. I'd much rather answer questions than have players who don't fully understand their role. Unless you're not supposed to understand.

10. As well as voting, each day you may PM me once to "observe" a character. This gives you a small piece of information you will notice or hear via gossip, which may or may not give you some clue towards their character's secret life. The vast majority will not necessarily tell you what you want to know; very often it will just be a random observation about that character. I have a large cache of unimportant facts about each character lined up. Occasionally, though, you can discover something about the character, that gives a clue as to their role.

11. Role play. Example: If your character is too good-natured to vote someone, you cannot post, "I have a restriction so I cannot vote." Say that you're too good-natured to vote anyone. Make it obvious that you're just playing your role, but don't say it out loud. This rule mostly applies in the realm of restrictions you may have, although if you're up for discussing the entire game without referring to OOC concepts, you'll make me very happy. You need to pretend there are no rules; only life and it's limitations.

12. A few of you have received "Character Updates", a few of you will receive them shortly. I will send these out periodically, so that you will stay up-to-date as your character fleshes out.
A key aspect of this game is that some plot-holes from your perspective actually are important, and have relevant information in them. Some plot-holes don't, however, and I will make up stuff to fill them as the game goes on. I am prepared to write entire biographies. :)
An important thing to note is that when you receive these, you now have more true facts about your characer that you can use--the same sort of information you will get form observations. Furthermore, if you find yourself BSing your way through a discussion, because you don't actually know some things about yourself, the stuff you make up about yourself may become true, if I feel it fits in to the story. You'll receive a character update confirming that this is now officially part of your persona.
If you feel there is something about yourself you want to know, PM me, and I'll send an answer back.

13. After lynch, everyone starts walking home. During this time, there will be a short window where alive players are allowed to freely discuss what just happened. I will say how long this window is at that time; afterwards, you're all asleep, and no more discussion is allowed.

1. Skoffin (Terrorist/3x lyncher and bomb)

Start Scene

Welcome to Evergreen Drive. Around twenty years ago, this lovely neighborhood started to develop a life of its own. While there is no fence, and no official boundary, people tend to know whether or not they are within the community. Its residents have grown to feel a sort of allegiance to this section of the street, and feel more connected to it than the city, or the country. While it isn't the most beautiful of areas, or the best by any measurement, it has become a part of each of their identities.
This isn't to say that everyone knows their neighbors like family. While they recognize each other, know everyone's name, and know a few basic facts about each neighbor's life, they actually rarely talk outside of official business.
This "official business" is the Neighborhood Watch. Evergreen Drive is in a relatively low-crime area, but this doesn't prevent the Watch from meeting weekly to discuss methods of improving the neighborhood. The meetings usually deal with beautification and litter, petty squabbles, and other insignificant decisions. There was never anything important achieved at these meetings, but everyone goes anyway, to feel connected.

Then one night disaster struck. Down the street, the gunshot echoed into the bedrooms of the neighborhood. Everyone was instantly awake, and ran to their windows, but could only see the usual well-lit tranquil street, the way it always has looked. As the early morning went on, one by one, the residents of Evergreen Drive received a phone call from Ditocoaf, current head of the Neighborhood Watch. He urged an emergency meeting at sunup; he knew something about the gunshot, and it obviously wasn't good. He had been on the phone with lackattack, who had called him in the middle of the night. According to Ditocoaf', Lack had stumbled upon some horrible plans that would undo the neighborhood--and it was being developed by some of the residents. Partway through explaining, lackattack had been cut off--by the gunshot. Promising to explain further at the meeting, Dito hung up to call the next neighbor.

lackattack is dead.

When everyone arrived at the meeting hall, upstairs from the corner coffee shop, Ditocoaf was notably absent. A few of them ran to his house, expecting to find him asleep in bed. Instead, they found him dead, overpowered, tied down, and smothered in the night. Without any discussion, the decision was made that this Neighborhood Watch would become a vigilante group, doing whatever necessary to erase the threat to the neighborhood.

Ditocoaf is dead.

Day 1 begins

As the sun rose, shining its light through the high windows of the meeting hall, the attendees looked around suspiciously at their neighbors, reviewing what little they actually knew about each other. There was pmchugh, a man who was usually seen playing with and training his pet dog in his yard. There was William18, a businessman who commuted to the neighboring city daily. There was DRoZ, an elderly lady who had lived in the neighborhood for twenty years. Macalaster was a famous ex-president who retired in this obscure neighborhood to avoid attention. FloresDeMal worked every day as the barista at the coffee shop. Everyone had heard the gossip of Mr. incrediball and Inkl0sed, a newlywed couple who, previously strangers, had fallen in love in a whirlwind romance on a cruise. cmckinney was a tall man who rarely attended the meetings, and had an overgrown, unkempt lawn. Militant was a local musician, who played at bars and coffee shops downtown. sam_levi_11 was just a teenager; his parents were on a month-long trip, and he was home alone for the duration. animorpherv1 had won the lottery, and retired early to this area for a quiet life with his books. And of course there was borox0, who had become a semi-famous holy man, who walked daily to the city to help the needy. Skoffin had recently moved to this country from a foreign land, but speaks the language tolerably well. And then there was LSU Tiger Josh, a police officer in the city--everyone looked at him one by one, hoping that he would have the solution already. All he could promise is that he would take a leave from his duties, to stay behind and help protect the neighborhood while they all sorted out these problems.

Everyone finally arrived, and the sun shining fully through the open windows, someone finally had the courage to be the first to speak:

Incrediball and Inklosed could be lovers

LSU could be a cop

The town watch might be a vigilante group

I think that the appearance of the person will be decieving, but also there will be a few accurate ones, to throw us off.

Also will the days be deadlined Dito?
