Ok, below are the basic rules for mafia games. However I suggest you all pay attention to number 4 and 5:

Mafia Rules:

1. This game is moderated by me (Talapus), whatever I say goes. If I make a mistake I’ll do my best to fix it, but feel free to PM and let me know. All roles will be given out randomly.

2. Do not quote any PMs you receive from me. Once the game has concluded, I will post all actions and roles. You may not post your win condition, how many words are in your role PM, or any other kind of way to get around not quoting PMs.

3. If you forget your role, or you delete it, that is your own fault. I suggest not doing either. However feel free to PM if there is any confusion as to what part you play and I’ll try clearing it up.

4. All ‘votes’ and ‘unvotes’ must be in Red(Yes, Skoffin should like this rule). If they are not, they will not be tallied. (I.E. Vote: Fircoal) If you vote two or more times consecutively without an unvote in between them, then the first vote will be the one that gets tallied.

5. The town does not have the ultimate say in who gets lynched. You may all vote for the person you want gone, but ultimately it is Prince Prospero himself who will decide who hangs from the gallows. Obviously, the Prince will probably side with the majority of the town. However, the Prince is unable to stop his own lynching. So, if a majority of you vote to lynch a player and it turns out to be the prince you all die. Be careful with your votes!

6. Once your death scene has been posted, you are dead. You can no longer post anything revealing or of substance. Whining is alright, **Voices from beyond the grave** are alright, as long as nothing of substance is revealed. Feel free to tell everything once game has concluded.

7. Do not edit/delete previous posts. Whatever you say goes into historical record.

8. Be attentive and active in the game. If I see you are not posting at all, I will prod all those who are inactive. If there is no timely response, you will be replaced.

9. If you have any questions about whether you should or shouldn’t do something, or just need some clarification, feel free to PM me.

10. I would prefer not to have to find replacements, but stuff happens, I realize that. If you could PM me and let me know that you can no longer participate instead of just leaving, that would be great. It’s more enjoyable for the rest of us when everyone plays, so I’ll try to find someone to fill your place.


Ok, now to discuss some of the basics. Obviously, this game is based on Poe's famous short story. If you've never read it, you can now by clicking here. In the story, obviously it is the Red Death that wins. So, in true fashion to give the Red Death good odds of doing the same here....this game is slightly unbalanced . You don't like it, you can leave.

The masquerade is held within 7 themed/colored rooms. They are: Green, Orange, Purple, White, Violet, Blue, Black. Each night, you must each PM me and tell me which room you would like to hide in. The "Red Death" will also PM me and tell me which room he'd like to visit. If you are unfortunately hiding in the room he visits...you die. Also, in order to help stop the spread of the plague, the following morning when the deaths are reported, the room where the people died will be sealed off so that the rest of you won't get infected. So, you do the math...If the "Red Death" kills people all 6 nights, then you better hang him on the 7th day or he will visit the last room the survivors are in and you all will die.

Also, because you are all rich, spoiled, and blase about your fellow countrymen dying outside in the streets, you are really people of little action. Therefore, it is only Prince Prospero who can make a kill each day. The Prince will pm and let me know. He may agree with you(His loyal friends) or off somebody else. BUT, because it is the Prince who decides and confronts a player each day, if he dies...so do you. So, be careful with your claims because the "Red Death" is gonna get you .
