Leave the cult goon to commander (if he has the ability still)

What he said^

Lynch him otherwise. He might actually be the recruiter. We never know.

Lynch him otherwise, if commander can't kill anymore. He might actually be the recruiter. We never know.

Anyways, I think we have enough evidence that there are 4 cult members as of right now.

Of the remaining players:

Metsfanmax - Mostly active.
Victor Sullivan - Mostly active
Jimfinn - Pretty active
jonty125 - Active (claimed clapper)
commander9 - Active (claimed King Achilles)
Rodion - Active
Mr. Squirrel - Active
safariguy5 - Active
Army of God - MIA, as far as I can tell
Pancakemix - Not completely active (Claimed Masli Busdriver, confirmed by various events)
jeraado - Not completely active

*activity is relative

My guess is that in order to actually be recruiting people, the recruiter would be active. We can eliminate some of these. We can eliminate jonty also because based on flavor, he's a recruit at best. I'm not solde that Commander isn't the recruiter, but thus far his claim seems pretty legit. I will ask one thing of Commander, however: Are you responsible for Naxus' death? Please state whether or not you can take credit for it, and if you're not responsible just say so.

Metsfanmax
Victor Sullivan
Jimfinn
commander9 (pending his response)
Rodion
Mr. Squirrel
safariguy5

So this isn't the best of starting points, but it'll have to do. Let's work our way down this list and see what we come up with. If you are on this list, please kindly explain why you are not the cult recruiter.

EBWOP: if we're working under the assumption that there are 4 cult, probability would suggest that at least one of those people is cult of some sort or another. That said, the recruiter is most important.

How exactly are we supposed to do that? Anyone can say they're not the recruiter. Short of either nameclaiming or roleclaiming, there really isn't any way to defend yourself against cult allegations.

Then can you at least tell me who of that list you think is most likely to be the recruiter and why? And if you can at least point out reasons which make you pro-town, that would also be beneficial.

Also, the recruiter doesn't necessarily have to be active in the sense of posting in the thread. PCM or any of the other less actives could be scummarining very easily and just PMing names in each night.

Well I find it odd that you put Metsfanmax as mostly active. I can't remember when he put a big case forward or really anything that he has contributed that has been helpful. I think he's been doing just enough to stay active but not enough to help town against either the mafia or the cult.

Not sure what you want me to say. I suppose if you all bandwagon and force me to roleclaim I'll have to, I just don't think this benefits us.

Where did Nagerous first say that (appreciate if you can link to the actual page)?

Mets has been inactive, yes, but I get the feeling there are other players that are more inactive and it's not even close. Give me some minutes and I'll check that data.

I haven't had anything of value to contribute to the rather intricate discussion. Based on what I've read in this thread though, neither have you.

Tbh, I don't remember. There was one mafia game though where he basically just ignored it and every single post of his was just "Silence is scummy" over and over again in big bold letters. I'm sure someone else would remember.

Alright, I'm reviewing PCM's list. Red highlights are my opinions. I'm also changing the order of players to reflect my rank of activity.

PCM wrote:commander9 - Active (claimed King Achilles) - top 3 active
Rodion - Active - top 3 active
safariguy5 - Active - top 3 active
Mr. Squirrel - Active - 4th/5th most active
jonty125 - Active (claimed clapper) - 4th/5th most active
Pancakemix - Not completely active (Claimed Masli Busdriver, confirmed by various events) - 6th/7th most active in number of posts
Victor Sullivan - Mostly active - 6th/7th most active in number of posts, but they kinda lack content
Metsfanmax - Mostly active. - bottom 4 active
Jimfinn - Pretty active - bottom 4 active
jeraado - Not completely active - bottom 4 active
Army of God - MIA, as far as I can tell - least active player

Now, PCM's list "corrected", I must say I also disagree with his idea that the cult recruiter is an active player. Were I cult recruiter, I'd probably try to draw the least attention I could and just survive for as long as possible. That means that, like Jimfinn, I too believe the recruiter would be a submariner. Ironically, that means I'd also like Jimfinn to be under scrutiny, as he is a submariner in my point of view.

Summarizing likeliest recruiters, my shortlist of pressure is:

Victor
Metsfanmax
Jimfinn
jeraado

Why? A cult recruiter stands to gain the most by learning actual roles, so surely they're more likely to be reasonably active and also pushing the conversation towards revealing information or claiming.

safari and Rodion have done plenty of that this game. An intelligent recruiter probably would have picked up a lot from the conversations about Commander et al without having to say a word.
