I mean seriously, this thread has had no activity for 4 days. Do nights usually last that long?

Well, I know TheSaxlad hasn't been very active in the forums, either. Just give it time.

IF it gets too bad I can take over temporarily. I'd give it a bit more time though. How long has night lasted?

This game is not being abandoned. Ive let it run because im still waiting for a night action from a player. I have my last Philosophy Exam this morning. After that If I still haven't got it I will assume that he/she doesnt want to put in a night action and will go to day phase.

My Exams end today so this game should now zip along :) at least I will try to make it that way :)

Day 5 Scene

The night was quiet. Investigations, doctors and recruiters were all busy, but tonight it seemed the killers were not.
One of the investigators had spied a recruiter and was just about to run and tell the town when another man in a black greatcoat stood behind him.

“You don’t want to do that.” He said “Come and be taught”.

With that he led the investigator off into the darkness of the alleyway.

Day 5 Go.

If you were a town vig I would have expected results by now, also if there was a mafia hunter then why couldn't there be a cult hunter? In addition, you seem to be very secretive about what you are and what your not, and I don't buy your claim of 'I will turn into a VT'. It seems also too convienent.

These two quotes together give me strong cult vibes from jonty. He seems to be overly insistent that there is a cult hunter, which if he is the recruiter would be a great way to deflect attention away from the search for the main recruiter into a search for the hunter (especially if there really is one). Also, when cult is making significant progress in taking over the town, he is urging the town vig to shoot, which would reduce numbers and accelerate a potential cult win.

Also, this softclaims a town PR, but has a twinge of irony to it. The cult recruiter would also be mafia's #1 target

I was in doubt of whether commander was really a town vig as if I was town vig there would have been a few people I would have been suspicious of being cultie or mafia.

So let's look at the numbers breakdown for town vs cult. 12 players alive, 3-4 of them are cult. That makes it either 9-3 or 8-4. However, it looks like we lost another investigative role of some sort to the cult, making investigations harder to come by. I would caution the vig to be careful and not rush into a DK too quickly as the odds still are very good that you'd hit town instead of cult.

I'm 95% sure that there are more culties than you've just stated, which leads me being suspicious of that you're trying to conceal the true numbers and want to fool town to feeling much safer than it should be.

Day 2 Begins

The Night 1 Scene has 1 recruitment, but we're not sure of the numbers.

Night 2 Starts.

Night will last 48-72 hours depending on how quickly actions come in.

The Beginning of the Night 2 Scene clearly states 3 cult members.

So they recruited someone on Night 2, it was Gilligan I think and he was lynched.

They recruited someone on Night 3, naxus, and he was DKed.

And they then recruited someone on Night 4, an investigative role we're told.

So that makes 4 cult members. I don't know how you got more than that unless there's some secret recruitment that hasn't been shown in the scenes.

1 - Jimfinn, Jonty claimed Clapper and flavour suggests Clapper to be pro-town. I don't think your theory of Jonty as the recruiter holds water unless someone counterclaims Clapper.

2 - Safari, I don't get why you suggested 9-3 OR 8-4. To me it looks like 100% 8-4 (2 starters + 4 recruited - Gilligan and Naxus killed = 4).

3 - Commander, you say there are "more culties" than what Safari stated. He said 3-4. I agree with "more than 3", but I would not say there are more than 4. Shed some light on your thoughts, please.

Day 1 - Sax implies that there are 2 culties.
Night 1 - a 3rd is recruited.
Night 2 - a 4th is recruited.
Night 3 - a 5th is recruited, but Naxus is day killed, so there are 4.
Night 4 - a 5th is recruited.

@ Rodion - why do you think that Clapper couldn't have been recruited? And all of you seem to be forgetting that there's another mafia player (Andy).

You forgot Gilligan's death bringing it down to 4 culties again.

True, Clapper might have been recruited. But are we looking for cult goons or for the recruiter?

Andy antagonizes Lack. Lack is mafia. Ergo, Andy is town?

Hey this may be at Rodion but I have something to say about this,

a) I'm clapper for those who forgot and I aren't cult
b) The Freedom Fighters (mafia) were trying to kill Andy so why would Andy be mafia?

You are right about Andy - my bad. Completely forgot that Sax reversed those two  Just read the scene and it implies that mafia is no more. I'm actually considering whether we should do the full claim and try to find inconsistencies or improbabilities. (Unless someone has better leads/suggestions).

The problem with a mass claim is that it will give the cult faction the knowledge of who is good to recruit and who is not. While I would not mind claiming myself (seeing as my role is completely undesirable at this point), for our vig and any other power roles this will make them prime recruitment targets. If the cult wasn't so strong, I would agree wholeheartedly to a massclaim because we could out the 1 or 2 remaining members before they recruit our power roles. Because they are about 1/3 the town strength though, we could not kill them fast enough to stop them from recruiting our power roles. I think doing some old-fashioned scum hunting would be best at this point.

That said, with another investigator recruited, I'm not sure how many power roles we have left :?

So far we have this as far as recruitment goes:
Cult starts with 2.
Night 1: someone "special"
Night 2: Gilligan (now dead)
Night 3: Naxus (also dead)
Night 4: an investigator

So we are looking for someone who's attitude possibly changed from day 1 to day 2. Either that or someone who's attitude changed from days 1-4 and here on day 5. They would be our culties. The recruiter won't be quite so easy to find.

If I had to convince a chick in order to get her laid I'd probably call her "special". Doesn't necessarily mean she is.

Regardless, I have a question. Let's assume we find a cult goon. Do we kill him or let him live while searching for the recruiter?
