vote sam Oh, also by "role list", I meant what are the roles in the game, and not who are those roles. I should vote whoever was dumb enough not to realize that, but I will keep this vote...
The town's ONLY way of winning is through the lynch, if the town DOESN'T lynch, then the town CAN'T win. Mafia can just kill them during the night. Also, this is day 1, almost anyone can get lynched the first day. Doesn't mean you can just go after anyone though, but town dying the first day is at a very high rate.
CrabNebula wrote:Ok, main part of the post was role-claiming. Now lets see what you get by role-claiming. You expose yourself and mafia go after you next turn (unless there is a Bullet Proof Vest in the game and you are that). Meanwhile, this turn theres a 75% chance of an innocent getting lynched. So you get both of yourselves dead while the mafia make merry.
Conclusion: Not profitable. Period.
Its not so cut and dry like that. Often, roleclaiming is a good strategy, when the time is right. See, there is a role called the doctor, which can protect people from dying. For example, the cop can roleclaim, and if the mafia target him, the cop will be protected. So they CANNOT kill the cop, they will have to kill people randomly looking for the doctor. That's the mafia's first priority, killing the doctor.

I'm still a bit suspicious of LSU Tiger Josh since he took my questioning of the rules as a sign if scummery (word?) which is evidently not the case. Anybody who is scum will try to make themselves as transparent and innocent-looking as possible, and I'm doing exactly the opposite. Evidently LSU thinks that a mafia will use reverse psychology of what I just presented to make themselves appear as town. Not really - haven't seen it happen in any game. BTW sam_levi - roleclaim not a good idea. You'll be hunted tonight.
But they do. If exposing yourself made someone automatically look like town, ALL the mafia are going to start doing it. Also, if Sam gets killed tonight, then that's not too bad, that's a lesser chance that the mafia will hit the doc. The point is not to survive at all costs but to help your faction [unless you are a survivor].
A Mason is a townie that can speak to other masons during the night.
