As one of the "skeptics," I have to admit after considering it that the fact there was no N1 recruit is indicative of a mason group rather than a cult. And I suppose recruiting a two people is a good alternative test because as Safari said, a multiple-recruit cult would be massively OP.

So I'll Unvote Vote Target.

One request I have, however, is for either Rodion or I to be recruited tonight instead of Doom. I'm not sure Rodion if would like to do it, but he and I have been the most suspicious of Victor so it makes sense if one of us test it.

Oh, that was a hammer. I thought we had a bit more room but it was coming anyway. That day lasted a while and at least we kind of reached a consensus, as it doesn't really matter who Victor and Edoc recruit as long as two recruits happen.

Just to clarify: Edoc should definitely recruit freezie. Victor should recruit Doom, Rodion, or me.

If you are scum, you should be recruited. As far as I know doom was pretty much willing to hang victor as he didn't beleive his claim.

i just wanted to say that we should only allow one recruit tonight just to be sure they are not cult.
i can kinda see that maye if they are cult that exponially growth is very powerful but the glowing weakness of this is the fact that we can denie it.
but what if we are not able to decline it later and then they recruit more people making the cult to big to stop?

just my 2 cents on this.

No cult is going to be able to have multiple recruitments with anyone able to do so. Recruiting two people would prove to me that they are not a cult group.

it is not quite overpowered if
A. anyone can just flat out say "No"
and
B. there are multiple mafias, 3rd parties and a ton of kills each phase.
both of which we know to be true. nonetheless we have found a willing test subject in freezie to answer the questions of if scum can win with us decent folk and die for the legitimacy of said group. No need to dwell on this further today.

Have there been a ton of kills each phase? Freezie said they only get 1 DK every two days, doesn't seem like we're dying off that fast.

I mean tons of killers, their activity has no relevence to the setup, there were two deaths night one, meaning unless we have an overeager vig there are at least three killing factions.

Throughout the day, arguments abounded as to who was the most scummy and who should be lynched. However with so many unanswered questions and confusion on some of the happenings in the house, people were hard pressed to come up with the best consensus.

“It’s The Chief!”

“Yes, he should be the one to go tonight.”

“FOOLS, why him when he might be able to help us?”

“I think it’s the other cook that needs to go.”

“Quite right!” shouted another.

But as the day wore on, the arguments only got more intense. It didn’t help either that it appeared some guests had lied earlier about what the mysterious note had said that was found hinting at a mysterious rendezvous and the lost war bonds. With guests lying, half truths, and very powerful abilities being advertised by a few, it caused quite a bit of confusion.

“The Cook is the safest bet for the night. Let’s give The Chief another night and see what he can do for us. At the very least we can all have a little faith and pray for the best outcome with this course of action.”

“I think it stinks! It stinks all around. But yes, we don’t have any need for two cooks in this house. Let’s do it! Let’s get to the bottom of this and get answers.”

With that, the guests started gathering upstairs in the hallway waiting to all be together to confront The Cook. Sensing something was wrong though, The Motorist began to back down the hallway towards the stairs desperately trying to think of some way out of this situation.
“Wait,” he shouted. “It doesn’t have to be like this, I can explain.”

It was no use; the group of partygoers was already upon him. Hands reached forward from the crowd and they were ready to take him down when in his panic, he slipped and fell off the first step. Only as he began to fall, no one reached forward to catch him.

“THUD, SNAP”

The Cook’s body lay in a sickening heap at the bottom of the stairs. His neck was snapped.

Targetman - Miss Peach - Mafia
is dead.

Looking down at the scene, many guests felt relieved that out of all the deaths in the house so far, this one came with little guilt. Not only had they been right, but they also could truly claim it wasn’t anyone among them who killed him.

At the sound of the fatal crash, Wadsworth finally unlocked his bedroom door and joined the rest of the guests.

“Wadsworth? Are you better?”

“Of course,” he replied. “I grew tired of communicating through my bedroom door all day. But with all that was happening I couldn’t keep quiet. Thank you for your understanding. Now then, about the note that was found in the room last night, do we all wish to investigate this together, or leave the matter up to police?”

“Oh yes, a lead to the missing war bonds,” said Prof. Plum. “I hardly think it’s a matter we need to concern the police with.”

“I agree,” said Sgt. Grey. “No reason to involve police in this matter and no reason for us to look into it as a group. I’m sure it’s just some random note left to be a joke. In fact, let me have it.”

Holding out his hand, Sgt. Grey took the note. Removing a lighter from his pocket he then burned it for all the guests to see.

“What are you doing?”

“Are you crazy? That was evidence.”

Smiling to the crowd, Sgt. Grey calmly replied, “Evidence of what exactly- the location to hidden war bonds that may or may not exist, or the meeting place of someone among us who can show us where they are hidden? No one wanted to involve the police and I completely agree with that. I’m sure it’s a waste of our time to even pursue this nonsense any further.”
Looking around the group, people began to nod and murmur in agreement. It probably was just a rumor after all, and even if it wasn’t, why would the police care?

“Alright,” said Wadsworth. “Now that it’s settled I should like to say that it may be a good idea that no one investigates the billiard room tonight. That way we can all forget all about this nonsense and move on with our lives.”

But it was with that statement, that some guests noticed while Wadsworth was speaking he looked directly at the staff members of the house and actually winked at a few of them. Other guests were so lost in their own thoughts at the time they didn’t even notice. What was certain though is that no one was going to simply forget about the war bonds.

With that though, it was time for bed. All the guests began to shuffle off towards their rooms for the evening. No one even noticed that as they did, The Motorist had apparently returned from police station and quietly made his way up the stairs and to his room. Why hadn’t he announced his return? Unfortunately, that answer would have to wait until tomorrow.

Night 3 Begins

Send in actions and investigations.

Re: CLUE Mafia- Night 3

Postby Talapus on Sat Jul 16, 2011 3:10 pm

For the first time in many nights, it appeared as though no one in the house had slept. Footsteps throughout the hallways and rooms, whispered conversations in the dark, and murder were all afoot!

Remembering the cryptic note left in the billiard room from the night before, many guests had the same idea to go and investigate the area further. And although they made every attempt to not let the other guests know their intentions earlier in the evening, it was soon apparent to many, everyone was out and about with their own agenda.

“Repent, repent I say! The end is near child but you can still be saved.”

The Chief placed his hand on the shoulder of guest and with a quick nod and smile, it became obvious that someone else had seen the light of the lord and the error of their ways.

Witnessing all this from the shadows and seeing how much the light of the lord could affect someone else so much made Wadsworth realize that he too wanted to bring this joy to another lost soul in house. Wandering throughout the house looking for someone to save and enlighten, he made his way to the dining room. There in the room he found someone willing to listen and accept his message and with a smile and a wink, he too now understood the power of the lord.

As the guest made his way out of the room, Wadsworth stood for a moment basking in the joy he had helped bring to another. Behind him though, someone else needed the lord a bit more. For at that moment, the Chief staggered into the room.

Surprised by his lack of coordination and wide eyes, Wadsworth ran to catch him. With one hand around his waist and the other pushing the knife in his back deeper as the Chief crumpled to the floor, Wadsworth realized too late he may have accidentally finished off his friend and mentor.

Victor Sullivan – The Chief, Evangelist Pro-town Mason recruiter, has died from an apparent stabbing.

Shocked and saddened by this loss, Wadsworth stood up and looked at the blood of his friend freshly glistening on his hands.

At that very moment, Mr.Boddy entered the room.

“What’s this?” cried Mr. Boddy. “Wadsworth! All this time it has been you that has been murdering my guests. I trusted you with everything! How could you?!?”

“Sir, I know this looks bad, but I-I-I can explain. You see…He just walked in... he…….”

“ENOUGH! No more lies!”

Grabbing the rope, Mr. Boddy began to approach Wadsworth.

Fearing for his life, he dashed from the room and ran towards lounge yelling for help. But in the dark, he tripped over the chandelier pieces and hit the floor hard. Before he was able to fully get up on his feet, he realized he made it to the lounge, but also that no one else was there to assist him. With a quick flip of the rope, Mr. Boddy had thrown it around Wadsworth’s neck and tightened violently.

“*Gasp*D-don’t you think we could…talk about this? By th-the way, I don’t think I remembered to compliment the d-d-d-dashing suit you’re wearing…….top *GASP* notch………argggghghhghsjhhhhh

It was no use, Mr. Boddy just kept tightening until Wadsworth’s eyes stared back at him…lifeless.

Edocsil – Wadsworth, the Butler - Evangelist Town Mason – has died due to strangulation.

Elsewhere in the manor, several guests gathered inside the billiard room to see if they could find out more about the cryptic note. They remembered it said something about bringing the evidence that “someone” had against the author of the note, but all assumed that whoever that was would already be there too. So, with hope and luck in their hearts, they all made there way there.

Upon arrival they saw something they didn’t quite expect. The Motorist that was taken away the night before was standing in the room staring at two gentlemen shaking hands. The two talking and shaking hands were Sgt. Gray and the arresting officer. Shocked by the motorist's re-arrival to the house, the guests demanded answers

“Officer, what did you find out?”

“Yes, tell us. Is the motorist who he claims to be? We gave you all the evidence we had, what did you discover?”

“Oh yes, about that.” The arresting officer began. “You see, after much interrogation and questioning of the supposed murderer, I came to find that there is in fact no evidence what so ever that he is guilty of anything.” Before the officer continued, a few of the guests swore they saw him wink in the direction of Sgt. Gray and the Motorist. ”In fact, I can safely say I think he has had nothing to do with any of the happenings in the house so far.”

Stunned and shocked by the officers findings, some of the gathered guests quickly turned angry.

“What was all this business of meeting these two in this room tonight? What was that wink?”

“LIAR!”

“You are a disgrace to that uniform, what are you hiding?”

And to all their surprise, the officer withdrew a key from his pocket. A key that very much resembled one of the keys stolen from Mr. Boddy the night they all arrived.

“Not that I have to answer to any of you, but I was warming by the fire before I returned and found this key and note left…”

WHAT DOES IT SAY?’ shouted the guests all at once.

“What’s it to you?” replied the officer. “I have half a mind to take this with me down to the station. Some nonsense about a secret passage and the location of 2 different safes with war bonds I believe.”

But before he could continue, several guests started to approach him and he fled the room fearing for his safety. Running across the hall he locked himself in the library.

*KNOCK, KNOCK, KNOCK*

“LET US IN! LET US IN!” shouted the guests.

Panicked and afraid they would steal the note with the safes locations and the key to access the secret passages, he decided to hide them in a book until it was safer to return and retrieve them.

He smiled to himself as he picked a clever story to hide them in and just as he returned it to the shelf, the door flew open.

“Where is it? Where did you hide the note? I’ll split the money with you.”

“YOU! Ha, you wouldn’t know how to spend it, let me show you how to live large. Show me where it is and we’ll go away somewhere, just you and me.”

“Tell me where you put it and I’ll let you live...”

Surprised by this the guests turned to see who said that and as they did the officer began to run. A shot rang out!

BANG!

The officer - NPC crashed to the floor dead.

Screaming and fearing for their lives the remaining guests scattered and ran for their rooms. Doors slammed and deadbolts hit home as guests all over sought shelter and safety in their own rooms.

With morning fast approaching, the guests decided to wait until first light to reemerge from there rooms. So much had happened and now they were all just trying to make sense of it. What was going to happen next.

Day 4 starts now. Those of you that happened to investigate the billiard room and the library last night had the unique opportunity to be in the right place at the right time. LUCKY YOU! There is $50,000,000 on the line and that can buy you independence, opulent lifestyles, or a worry free existence. There is a catch however! Although you know the note and key are hidden in a book in the library you aren’t quite sure which one. But you know the area. So, should you so choose to investigate the library tonight we will tell you 5 book titles it may be hiding in. Everyone else who investigated other rooms in the manor, you get a shot to. All you have to do is investigate the library tonight and we will send you a list of 20 titles to choose from. Guess the right one and you could be a millionaire. That’s a lot of money on the line people. The question you need to ask yourselves is what is it worth to you? Because the answer for several others is…MURDER!

Honestly .... I dont get it. So if a person investigated the billiard room or library they will receive a list of five books to choose from and if they did not then they need to investigate the library and they will receive a list of 20 books? And lets say a person investigated the library or billiard room and is a good person and they guess the right book.... does that make them a bad person then all of a sudden? I dont get it. Sorry.

I investigated the ballroom and revolver last night, no reply on my investigation yet.

Still, freezie and Doom should be able to help us figure out who the remaining mafia members are.

Good thing I said we should wait a day before trying to test edoc and Victor on the claim, looks like mafia took a shot at Victor, and it looks like Boddy is an SKer who offed edoc.

Just because you find the key and note, doesn't mean it will change you. Depends on what you choose to do with it. But the warbonds are a substantial point for some players and their win conditions. So it's there for a reason.

Alright, investigation just received.

Nothing Happened in the Ballroom.

Revolver had Yvette, Ms. Ho and Mr. Boddy's fingerprints on them. I'm not sure if it includes yesterday night's killing of the NPC, but I think we can assume Boddy didn't kill the Cop.

So either Yvette or Ms. Ho did.

Can DoomYoshi or someone repost the list of claimed and cleared people?

BEFORE ANYTHING, my old mafia partner still remains and I beleive he still have a day kill. SO YOU WHO KNOW WHO YOU ARE, WAIT BEFORE USING THAT KILL. I will recruit him tonight, but for now we can possibly use this ''mafia'' kill as a vig kill in town's cause.

So, any possible targets for that kill anyone want to offer?

I don't think it would serve any purpose. If your WC did change from mafia to town and you are able to convert more people, I think we can simply default to no lynches and no NKs until everybody wins (exceptions being Lala, GT and Target). Victor's death proves that this is real so there is nothing that can be done to stop the town masonry anymore.

My old questions seem mostly answered. I'll make a new list.

1 - Did your group have any hidden cellar cards?
2 - Did your group kill Anarkists Dream?
3 - Looks like there is only one person remaining in your mafia ("and I believe he still"). Is it Yvette or someone else?
4 - How did you come up with the Ms. Silver fakeclaim?

For now, vote no lynch.

The fact that both victor and edoc died means that there is an anti town faction/player that won't accept the recruitment and is trying to screw us all. So yes, killing people still serves a purpose. As for your questions:

1 - Did your group have any hidden cellar cards?
Not that I know off. Monsieur Brunette and The chief were the only ones I knew about.
2 - Did your group kill Anarkists Dream?
Yes, we did.
3 - Looks like there is only one person remaining in your mafia ("and I believe he still"). Is it Yvette or someone else?
Yvette
4 - How did you come up with the Ms. Silver fakeclaim?
I am awesome?

2 mafias + an sk is what's most likely. Which means there is 2 anti town left.

Oh and one last thing I forgot to mention: Every factions got limited kills. So 2 kills a night won't happen every nights.
