For the first time in many nights, it appeared as though no one in the house had slept. Footsteps throughout the hallways and rooms, whispered conversations in the dark, and murder were all afoot!
Remembering the cryptic note left in the billiard room from the night before, many guests had the same idea to go and investigate the area further. And although they made every attempt to not let the other guests know their intentions earlier in the evening, it was soon apparent to many, everyone was out and about with their own agenda.
“Repent, repent I say! The end is near child but you can still be saved.”
The Chief placed his hand on the shoulder of guest and with a quick nod and smile, it became obvious that someone else had seen the light of the lord and the error of their ways.
Witnessing all this from the shadows and seeing how much the light of the lord could affect someone else so much made Wadsworth realize that he too wanted to bring this joy to another lost soul in house. Wandering throughout the house looking for someone to save and enlighten, he made his way to the dining room. There in the room he found someone willing to listen and accept his message and with a smile and a wink, he too now understood the power of the lord.
As the guest made his way out of the room, Wadsworth stood for a moment basking in the joy he had helped bring to another. Behind him though, someone else needed the lord a bit more. For at that moment, the Chief staggered into the room.
Surprised by his lack of coordination and wide eyes, Wadsworth ran to catch him. With one hand around his waist and the other pushing the knife in his back deeper as the Chief crumpled to the floor, Wadsworth realized too late he may have accidentally finished off his friend and mentor.
Victor Sullivan – The Chief, Evangelist Pro-town Mason recruiter, has died from an apparent stabbing.
Shocked and saddened by this loss, Wadsworth stood up and looked at the blood of his friend freshly glistening on his hands.
At that very moment, Mr.Boddy entered the room.
“What’s this?” cried Mr. Boddy. “Wadsworth! All this time it has been you that has been murdering my guests. I trusted you with everything! How could you?!?”
“Sir, I know this looks bad, but I-I-I can explain. You see…He just walked in... he…….”
“ENOUGH! No more lies!”
Grabbing the rope, Mr. Boddy began to approach Wadsworth.
Fearing for his life, he dashed from the room and ran towards lounge yelling for help. But in the dark, he tripped over the chandelier pieces and hit the floor hard. Before he was able to fully get up on his feet, he realized he made it to the lounge, but also that no one else was there to assist him. With a quick flip of the rope, Mr. Boddy had thrown it around Wadsworth’s neck and tightened violently.
“*Gasp*D-don’t you think we could…talk about this? By th-the way, I don’t think I remembered to compliment the d-d-d-dashing suit you’re wearing…….top *GASP* notch………argggghghhghsjhhhhh”
It was no use, Mr. Boddy just kept tightening until Wadsworth’s eyes stared back at him…lifeless.
Edocsil – Wadsworth, the Butler - Evangelist Town Mason – has died due to strangulation.
Elsewhere in the manor, several guests gathered inside the billiard room to see if they could find out more about the cryptic note. They remembered it said something about bringing the evidence that “someone” had against the author of the note, but all assumed that whoever that was would already be there too. So, with hope and luck in their hearts, they all made there way there.
Upon arrival they saw something they didn’t quite expect. The Motorist that was taken away the night before was standing in the room staring at two gentlemen shaking hands. The two talking and shaking hands were Sgt. Gray and the arresting officer. Shocked by the motorist's re-arrival to the house, the guests demanded answers
“Officer, what did you find out?”
“Yes, tell us. Is the motorist who he claims to be? We gave you all the evidence we had, what did you discover?”
“Oh yes, about that.” The arresting officer began. “You see, after much interrogation and questioning of the supposed murderer, I came to find that there is in fact no evidence what so ever that he is guilty of anything.” Before the officer continued, a few of the guests swore they saw him wink in the direction of Sgt. Gray and the Motorist. ”In fact, I can safely say I think he has had nothing to do with any of the happenings in the house so far.”
Stunned and shocked by the officers findings, some of the gathered guests quickly turned angry.
“What was all this business of meeting these two in this room tonight? What was that wink?”
“LIAR!”
“You are a disgrace to that uniform, what are you hiding?”
And to all their surprise, the officer withdrew a key from his pocket. A key that very much resembled one of the keys stolen from Mr. Boddy the night they all arrived.
“Not that I have to answer to any of you, but I was warming by the fire before I returned and found this key and note left…”
“WHAT DOES IT SAY?’ shouted the guests all at once.
“What’s it to you?” replied the officer. “I have half a mind to take this with me down to the station. Some nonsense about a secret passage and the location of 2 different safes with war bonds I believe.”
But before he could continue, several guests started to approach him and he fled the room fearing for his safety. Running across the hall he locked himself in the library.
*KNOCK, KNOCK, KNOCK*
“LET US IN! LET US IN!” shouted the guests.
Panicked and afraid they would steal the note with the safes locations and the key to access the secret passages, he decided to hide them in a book until it was safer to return and retrieve them.
He smiled to himself as he picked a clever story to hide them in and just as he returned it to the shelf, the door flew open.
“Where is it? Where did you hide the note? I’ll split the money with you.”
“YOU! Ha, you wouldn’t know how to spend it, let me show you how to live large. Show me where it is and we’ll go away somewhere, just you and me.”
“Tell me where you put it and I’ll let you live...”
Surprised by this the guests turned to see who said that and as they did the officer began to run. A shot rang out!
BANG!
The officer - NPC crashed to the floor dead.
Screaming and fearing for their lives the remaining guests scattered and ran for their rooms. Doors slammed and deadbolts hit home as guests all over sought shelter and safety in their own rooms.
With morning fast approaching, the guests decided to wait until first light to reemerge from there rooms. So much had happened and now they were all just trying to make sense of it. What was going to happen next.
Day 4 starts now. Those of you that happened to investigate the billiard room and the library last night had the unique opportunity to be in the right place at the right time. LUCKY YOU! There is $50,000,000 on the line and that can buy you independence, opulent lifestyles, or a worry free existence. There is a catch however! Although you know the note and key are hidden in a book in the library you aren’t quite sure which one. But you know the area. So, should you so choose to investigate the library tonight we will tell you 5 book titles it may be hiding in. Everyone else who investigated other rooms in the manor, you get a shot to. All you have to do is investigate the library tonight and we will send you a list of 20 titles to choose from. Guess the right one and you could be a millionaire. That’s a lot of money on the line people. The question you need to ask yourselves is what is it worth to you? Because the answer for several others is…MURDER!
