lots of votes early on for some speculation. I am glad we atleast got the discussion going.
But spiesr i dont really get your reasoning yet, why would a mafia or cult guy point out the possibility of a cult. i might be new but its sounds counter intuitive to me. Lets say, if i was mafia/cult, i sure would not suggest/tell it to others. but thats just my line of reasoning.

i'm guessing he wouldn't want to go into specifics as that would let people make some accurate guesses as to what his role is, which would benefit mafia.
as for my read on virus, hes new, and is eager to play well, as to whether he is scum or town, its to early to tell
as for the cult situation, im unsure, on one hand cult's are usually obscure and town players don't know they exist till one of them dies (typically this is how it works, but some mods do it differently), on the other hand if jonty was cult/mafia i doubt that he would have brought up the possibility of their being a cult as he wouldn't want the town to know there was, i'll make a note of it though
on a side note, spiesr has 3 votes, though one of those is left over from the joke vote stage, but lets try not to quick lynch anybody.

Going to dinner with the family, I'll give an update vote count as soon as possible for me.

5 needed for a lynch, so according to Greg (who I trust in accuracy on this), spiesr is at L-2

Hope that suffices for now.

spiesr wrote:Anyway, my "logic" is that I think that a townie would have reason to believe that there is not a cult in this game. I would rather not go into detail about why.

Couple of good titbits in here if im not mistaken (and I could very well be):

-> You are implying that you have, in your role/PM, secondary information - because, if you were simply scum with daytalk (ie knowledge of scum roles) you would have no reason to think townies had any additional information.
-> This is something that makes you think townies have additional info (either by you being a townie and having that bit of information or by having some other piece of information that leads you to this conclusion)
-> What information would confirm to a townie that there is no cult? If you are town then either you have information on all scum roles or you have something that confirms that scum numbers are static, or you have misinterprated what information you got given; if you are scum, however, there are probably a number of reasons why you may have said what you did, most obvious being to try and make yourself look like a townie who knows there isnt a cult, while being a scum recruiter.

My question is then: why do you not want to go into detail (see: underlined)?

To my knowledge (for example I have no idea if there are any secret votes or whatnot) the vote count currently looks like this:
jonty125 (2): gregwolf121, spiesr
spiesr (2): colton24, jonty125
colton24 (1): Lootifer
Lootifer (1): kratos644
Lootifer wrote:-> What information would confirm to a townie that there is no cult? The "information" which has triggered this response can't really confirm anything. In my opinion a person with that information would most likely conclude that there is not a cult in the game. It is of course open the interpretation so there is room for error. That said it seemed like a passable lead for Day 1.
Lootifer wrote:My question is then: why do you not want to go into detail (see: underlined)?
I don't want to go into details because to do so would enter into at least a grey section of the rules. I probably should not have gone as far as I have.

Day 1 Vote Count 1:

jonty125 (2): gregwolf121, spiesr
spiesr (2): colton24, jonty125
Lootifer (1): kratos644

With 9 alive, it takes 5 to lynch.

I would like to take this time to remind everyone about not quoting PM's and to stick to certain restrictions set by their PMs, if they exist.

No activity isn't going to get us anywhere. In a small game like this the faster we find mafia the better. I'm going to put out an FOS Colton24 because he hasn't posted anything since his joke vote

I realize this, but it is still possibly an early sign of potentially just trying to hide in the background that we shouldn't just overlook.

Spiesr is smart... he led us down this path on purpose. Now, he may have done it attempting to be subtle, but... he has now received too much attention. So, he is town with info... he is a jester who meant to make himself a target, or he is a third party or mafia role attempting to 'communicate' with someone else out there... However, Let us make sure that we pay attention to everyone else too, because, no matter his role, we know there is still scum out there. I have been sick the last two days, but I am starting to feel better, so I should be more active

Scene incoming!

An innocent townsman was wandering around, doing his townly business. He felt his phone vibrate in his pocket, so he pulled it out and answered it. "Hello?" he asked into it, but the other line had dropped off. He put his phone back into his pocket, and glanced over his shoulder just in time to see something lurking in the shadows. He spun around just as the gun was put to his head. The gunsman told him "Come with me to the town hall, and tell everyone who you are."

He was lead to the town hall, turned on the PA system, and announced, trembling, "I am Spiesr, a member of the Town Night Investigation Unit." The gunsman fled, fearing what he had done, and the townsman went to the square, where everyone stared at him in awe.

Well, we just got 2 roles, one owner known, the other unknown. I assume these are a daycop, and a standard nightcop, obviously with no interaction between the two of them.

ah i get it, wel i hope we have a doc, atleast he knows who to save then :).

to speculate on other roles, because we now know there are atleast 2 powerroles with the town, would a roleblocking mafia be a logic character in the game? Well we probably find out after night 1 if someone is able to save spiesr.
and just out of curiosity if there would be a mafia roleblocker, what would happen if he blocks the day cop ? nothing or does he get blocked the next day then?

The roleblocker, if it exists, will have been informed he may only block night actions, so the role that caused the above scene will not be affected.

"I am Spiesr, a member of the Town Night Investigation Unit."

^^

-> "Member" and "Unit"
-> This could mean theres more than on in this team
-> This coupled with a day investigator (that I cant find a good reason to think they would be scum - theres no good motive for ousting him, the less solid info the better for scum right?) means town have some very powerful PRs
-> Makes me think to balance this scum are also going to be very powerful
-> ???
