Raz not quite pulling a "why me" but basically going "I dont know what you want from me". It's scummy, but it's also an easy lynch to push as scum.

For Loose, and this is hopefully the last time I talk about this kind of in aid of him:
if we believe the role to be town and the player to be for lack of a nicer word clueless, then only informing us now of the smoke bomb is consistent. Whether Loose is scum or not, in all cases his play was to immediately announce that the smoke bomb was not him. I distinguish 2 cases:
1) Loose is Town and didnt inform Town, not his ability. He's just late
2) Loose is scum and didnt inform Town, his ability. He reveals now because others note that it is too OP to be in 1 role, but the smokebomb made people go back to him being town so why mention that at all?

I can see 2 reasons why someone else used his action:
1) He is 100% confident that Loose is town and wanted to preserve him today
2) It's a scum ability and is used to make him more suspicious.

I have serious issues with the latter. Scum would rather save fellow scum, so this would only make sense if Loose is scum. Instead, this made him more suspicous rather than less suspicious.

Maybe I am reasoning too much from hindsight. Depending on the role, someone could claim this action?

Any way, this is not Dr. Moriarty level any way you look at it so if you rule out the super genius evil mastermind scheme from Sherlock Holmes it is most likely what it looks like.

Ps scenario D: both Loose and Pix maffia could be too. But for now: Loose looks like it

I could quote more, but 'evil' and 'genius' are recurring themes. Bomber and smoke bomb is also interesting.

My hypothesis is that Sonic is town and pulled the smoke bomb to see how other people would react. He pushes to see who is willing to push with him, and tries to get a feel for people that way.

If I had to name 2 people for scum out of the list, it would probably be Pepe and Darin. But I dont have particularly strong feelings about either of them.

Again it sounds like your Loose his lawyer bailing him out of trouble everytime (with the best defence chalk techniques money can buy). You say there are only 2 possibilities and it's likely not the last of those two. So what your actually saying there is only one possibility and Loose is 100% town..

So it's "Loose got saved by a townie who is 100% confident that Loose is town and wanted to preserve him today". If that doesn't make people doubt then i dunno what will..

Everytime the chalk-talk defence is in essence pretty farfetched but you bring it so elaborate good people buy it. It's possible yes. But by now, on so many occasions i can"t see the chalk color anymore. Not once you wanted to go deeper on Loose his behavior, it was all loose defence play from A to Z in the end

Everytime you laid out 2 possibilities and said why one would be more believable. The believable one always in favor of Loose..

PS: The only other The Tick character that has smokebomb abilities is Die Fliedermaus. So if you think i smokebombed Loose to save him i would be Die Fliedermaus. Does that make any sense to you? Me saving Loose behind the scenes

I wish people knew the The Tick charachters more and play it more as a mafia game with a large The Tick twist.

The ultimate goal in The Tick is to find and beat The Tick's arch nemesis Chairface Chippendale. He is a devious genius evil mastermind.

He has to be in here, that is why i dropped those words more then once. "Pushing buttons".

Chairface rarely does the "dirty work" himself, usually employing his minions with it instead. So after N1 he would be the mafia puppeteer is what im thinking.

And another scum character that has to be in here is the Evil Midnight bomber what bombs at midnight, he has legendary cult status by now in The Tick.

Simply put: You can't play a The Tick role playing game without those two vilains in it. Loose is certainly not the mastermind im looking for so he can't be Chairface. There's a reason why I didn't which was to see if anyone came out with anything that was useful for deducing purposes.

More importantly and I can't say this often enough Swangs blending in chat is the MO of mafia

BLENDING IN is what Mafia/Scum/Traitors do.

I'm happy to trade information about my identity IF I reckon its a good trade and I stand to get equal or better valued information in return.
If I don't see such a trade why should I give information away for free?

You know what Swang - if you soft reveal (name of character) I'll soft reveal mine.

And I'll think about a similar trade with others but right now Swang is the highest value trade to me because Swang is Mafia, Mafia Mafia.

So funny how his lawyer keeps cocking up the most elaborate defence and Loose keeps walsing in a few minutes later to destroy that defence scenario himself..

So "Midnight bomber" like. The key characteristic of the Evil Bomber is he just cant help himself: When caught red-handed he proclaims that they won't be able to convict him, because they lack any evidence, but then he has one of his uncontrolled outbursts; and 5 seconds later he proudly announces himself to be evil.. Love it

Hi Darin - but actually addressed to everyone else and not just Darin.

Regarding Swang there is no signed confession and no smoking gun with his fingerprints on - yet.

But why don't you do what I did and scroll to the bottom of the page and sort by author and SEE if you come to the same conclusion I did;

Loose Canon wrote:Swang
1. You said a little bit in the lynch don't lynch discussion day 1 - but nothing really
2. You then posted about the Pixar suspicion but then concluded with a vote - I read it as a dummy vote - on Trafalgar.

3. THEREAFTER you've offered little except to use the shade already on me to appear to be offering something - but actually it amounted to nothing.
You did it in a way that made it seem you were posting something more substantial that it actually was and you had cover of someone else having cast the shade in the first instance.
You were happy with a red herring that made it appear that you were contributing.

For that Swang you get something red from me.

Vote; Swang918

Swang is BLENDING IN - and BLENDING IN is total scummy behaviour.

And even if you think maybe/maybe not why not put pressure on Swang? - do you really have anything better to go on? - because if you have I aint seen it.
And whats more Swang aint done nothing yet of substance to defend himself - nothing.

And by the way I wasn't looking for Swang I looked at everyone and then got to Swang just before Trafalgar at the end and Swang jumped out to me.

And another thing - why is nobody considering who might have thrown the smoke bomb at me - and whether it was to protect me or throw shade at me?

Loose's poof and its aftermath (no lynch today) made him and his issue irrelevant for the time being, and discussing his vague scum ability, if any, seems futile.

My impression is the everyone's back-voting of Pixar without a reasonable explanation is as logical as voting for lynching Raz

if i'd have to vote according to the amount of chatter, those who can't stop talking about it are the first suspects.

As for now, i haven't read a firm and convincing argument for any of the current votes.

If such is the case, we should reverse-engineer the decision to the ones who are the less likely to be mistakenly lynched according to the information gathered so far.

Is that Raz?

3) Loose is town and his ability
4) Loose is scum and not his ability.

For 4) Why the f would someone use his ability unless they believed him to be town? Why wouldn't he instantly post that it wasnt his ability? He's late once again, but as scum he as even more incentive to inform town immediately to seem town. I dont think this is likely.
For 3) give me a reason why loose wouldn't say he used it and lie instead.

"He's late once again" All good clues on Loose get diverted with this unaswerable remark..

Doc got murdered and Loose was one of his two suspects? Oh wel, Loose is just a bit late like always i suppose. It's all good*

Loose said he was thinking his "non-vote" (counting as zero- on D1) could not be seen by rest of town and it took a lot of pressure getting him to confess that it in the end? "Oh wel, He's late once again*"

Loose saying all the weird stuff and changing his story more then once: "Its just Loose, he is always late on things*"

Then next we found out Loose is looking for the cop: Let's not search deeper on the matter why he wants to find the cop, im sure he is just a bit late*

Loose is getting Lynch votes fast on D2 and gets his ass saved by a smoke bomb (so he is invulnerable for the rest of the day) and it took a lot of pressure again to get him saying it in the end that that was not his ability): "He's late once again like always*"

*Not placing these words in your mouth but that is how it sounds if you say "He's late once again"

We can go back-and-forth on it but it would just be a yes/no rambling

Alot of this seems to be pointless conjecture when we can't even vote for the guy who's been acting scummish all game.

Can we divert our attention away for the moment, come back to this on D3, and focus on someone else? Raz made a BS post after a week, requiring more reading, again. Like...Come on man. Bax is Bax. Pepe I merely voted for because of the placement in the wagon. I got an OMGUS vote for it.

Do you guys have anyone else, besides Loose, believe to be scum?

I don't get how Loose's ability is not his own. Can someone help clear this up for me?

So somebody else used this powerful ability to save Loose? How and why would any Townie know with such certainty that Loose is worth saving especially given what's happened and it's only Day 2?

But then I also don't get why he would lie about that....

The story keeps getting weirder and weirder.

I understand your sentiment which is why I want to refer to a post I made this morning:
Extreme Ways wrote:I also want to be very clear on something. If any of the other more vocal players had had Loose's role (and would be open about it, D2), they would be 100% town. It's just that Loose's play is so incredibly scummy that it's borderline impossible not to consider other options.

And DDS' immediate followup:
DirtyDishSoap wrote:Agreed. I'm simply calling him a loon because the things he has said... well it's like a murderer yelling "LOOK! IM WEARING CHARLES CORPSE AS A HOOD ORNAMENT! ARREST ME OFFICER!"
Just...lmao. Goofy game.

I am defending Loose not because I like his play, but because it's an incredibly easy lynch to push for. You can take just about every post Loose made and say "this is scummy", including those where he said that it's not his ability. That doesn't take away that the facts we know to be objectively true (voteless D1, doublevote D2) are incredibly likely to be town-aligned rather than mafia-aligned.

As for our investigative role, I dont even think they should investigate loose. I think there's more info to be retrieved from investigating you, me, strike (who aligned me with loose earlier), DDS, Pepe and Ragian. Focus on the people surrounding Loose, rather than Loose himself. He's a bit of a... Loose cannon.

Also I didnt respond earlier but lol @ bax. I guess we are both top of his scum list, but he's unwilling to discuss his magical disappearance. I'd consider him scum if it wasnt for earlier games. In the same vain, both DDS and you get slight town creds from me for not going harder on Bax.

Is there an investigative role that looked up Loose Night 1 and found out with certainty that he's Town? Perhaps this individual doesn't want to come forward yet.

It just seems really forward and a bad play for a 3rd party person to protect 3rd party Loose or a Mafia to protect Mafia Loose so blatantly.

Not sure how to read Raz. 30th of September is way past any normal day deadline, but pushing inactives is very easy. Problem is that I dont have any particularly strong scum reads on the more active players so it's a tough play for me.

I'm slightly drunk, and this is mainly from memory.
You are top of my town list atm. Strike is also up there, as is fusi. Ragian I've grown a little less sure about. Loose/sonic are hard to read, but I believe them both to be town for now. Sonic could just as well be third party, but I dont think he's a scum-aligned 3P.

Hard to believe that this individual has both of these powers combined. I think that they should come forward unless they have another ability, most likely they are not as target considering that everyone has a power role. Regardless I agree that it's weird.

Sonic - what you are painting as shady late - is partly me choosing my timings and to a lesser extent adapting to the game as it develops.
I'll point out that knowing my no-vote day 1 wouldn't count I chose to cast a vote then to try to move the game along - I said it was to see if there was any traction for a theory I had back then.
Your null hypothesis is I'm scum.
IF you are town why don't you try turning things around and explore the alternative hypothesis and ask yourself - what if this guy Loose Canon is actually trying his best to work for town?
He claims to be honest, he seems pretty confident if push comes to shove he can validate his innocence - lets just give him the benefit of the doubt for now - and test the alternative hypothesis.
Is there any sense at all in his hypothesis about Swang?
Chew it and see how it tastes - maybe it is a bit marmite to you?
Why not cast some of your shade on Swang and see how that goes?

This makes sense to me. I don't buy the "he's late again" excuse either. Anyone defending loose at this point is scummy in my opinion

Seems you lot missed me lots

I don't have anything to report from night 1, got a lot of reading to do to catch up.

have booked some time off work from 30 September, hopefully I will be still alive by that time.

So after a quick skim, I see that Ragian is out to get me... hmmmm.

Are you going to change your vote now that I have posted, or is this part of a win condition to have me lynched?

Raz is just too suspicious. He got mod-prodded and spent 5 minutes glazing over the thread and literally typed himself a free ticket to continue being inactive until September 30th. And then he sends another threatening message to Ragian to divert attention and because he remembers that from the last time he scanned the thread last week.

Agree w/ DDS that it doesn't get scummier than that in the absence of concrete leads.

Following through on my post from yesterday, vote Raz.

Extreme sure seems to have taken me saying he looks scummier if Loose is scum personally. I don't think it's exactly news that you've been his biggest defender.
